Article Abstract

Two kinds of chiral hosts, named (/)-BN-mCP and (/)-BN-2mCP, are prepared. Solution processable circularly polarized organic light-emitting diodes (CP-OLEDs) based on the chiral hosts and achiral emitter Ir(mypp) present the maximum external quantum efficiency (EQE) and dissymmetry factor values () of 12.7%/-1.7 × 10 and 17.1%/-1.3 × 10, respectively. Using ()-BN-2mCP as the chiral host and Ir(mypp) and Ir(piq)(acac) as the achiral emitters, the solution-processed OLED exhibits a broad emission spectrum with the EQE of 12.1% and of -1.1 × 10.

Developing artificial hosts with temperature-driven conformational switching behaviors facilitates our understanding of the temperature-dependent allostery and adaptation mechanisms in natural recognition systems. Herein, we report the design and synthesis of three pairs of water-soluble, enantiomeric binaphthalene-based tetraimidazolium macrocycles (SS/RR-1•4Cl- - SS/RR-3•4Cl-) as artificial hosts for exploring sequence-selective recognition of dinucleotides in aqueous media. Owing to the reversible rotational conformation of axially chiral binaphthyl units, SS-1•4Cl- demonstrates the conformational switching, converting from cis-conformation (SS-1) to trans-conformation (SS-1) by increasing temperature, thereby causing the recognition cavity to transition from a closed to an open state.

Helically ordered chiral super spaces enable optical chirality in hybrid organic-inorganic perovskite crystals.

Department of Advanced Materials Engineering for Information & Electronics, Kyung Hee University, Gyeonggi-do 17104, Republic of Korea. Electronic address:

We present a supramolecular templating strategy for inducing chirality in hybrid perovskites via confined crystallization within chiral super spaces-nanoconfined, helically ordered cavities formed by the self-assembly of achiral bent-core molecules with chiral additives. Upon removal of the additives, the resulting porous films retain permanent chirality. Quasi-2D hybrid organic-inorganic perovskites crystallized within these templates exhibit distinct chiroptical activity, including mirror-image circular dichroism and circularly polarized light emitting (CPLE), with CPLE dissymmetry factors reaching up to 1.

Circularly polarized room-temperature phosphorescent (CP-RTP) materials have been attracting great attention due to their potential applications in anticounterfeiting. In this study, we designed and synthesized a host-guest copolymer () with strong phosphorescence emission and a long emission lifetime using a self-doping strategy. The co-assembled liquid crystal polymer networks / doped with demonstrated a stronger RTP emission and longer lifetime (τ = 148 ms).

We herein demonstrate the synthesis of a pair of enantiomerically pure Yb complexes by post-functionalisation of the parent Yb complex condensation with an enantiomerically pure chiral amine. The enantiomeric pair is structurally characterised by single crystal and powder X-ray diffraction, showing that it crystalises in the 222 Sohncke space group with Flack parameters close to zero, which confirms their enantiopurity. Circular Dichroism (CD) and absorption spectroscopies in the NIR reveal sharp F → F f-f transitions, with values up to 0.

: The clinical potential of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) against dual threats like antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and cancer is often limited by their high host cell toxicity. Here, we focused on brevinin-2OS (B2OS), a novel peptide from the skin of with potent haemolytic activity. The objective was to study the structure-activity relationship and optimise the safety via targeted modifications.
