Considering the large number of volatile molecules that characterize L., adequate investigation supported by the application of robust and effective analytical methods is essential to better understand the impact of these low- and medium-molecular-weight molecules on the entire phytocomplex. This work aimed to characterize the volatile fraction of the chemical profile of three different cultivars of L. pollen, grown in Italy, which were thoroughly investigated by the application of two complementary techniques: SPME-GC-MS and PTR-ToF-MS. Furthermore, in order to provide more information on the chemical profile of the matrices under study, the cannabinoid content of the hexane extracts was also measured by GC-MS. Until now, no similar study, in terms of survey techniques applied, has been performed on pollen. The obtained results showed a high content of volatile molecules, which differentiated the three matrices. The data relating to the content of cannabinoids were also interesting as they showed that one of the three cultivars was richer than the others. Finally, an in-depth statistical survey was performed to better compare the investigated samples and identify the molecules that most contribute to differentiating them. The findings of this study may be useful for integrating the compositional information on L.

Helicoverpa armigera (Hübner) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) is an important herbivorous pest of bottle gourd. We studied the development, reproduction and life table parameters of H. armigera to assess the resistance of eight bottle gourd cultivars, and performed biochemical analysis when H.

The German Federal Ex Situ Genebank for Agricultural and Horticultural Crops (IPK) harbours over 3000 pea plant genetic resources (PGRs), backed up by corresponding information across 16 key agronomic and economical traits. The unbalanced structure and inconsistent format of this historical data has precluded effective leverage of genebank accessions, despite the opportunities contained in its genetic diversity. Therefore, a three-step statistical approach founded in linear mixed models was implemented to enable a rigorous and targeted data curation.

Global wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) production faces significant challenges due to the destructive nature of leaf (Puccinia triticina; leaf rust [Lr]), stem (Puccinia graminis; stem rust [Sr]), and stripe (Puccinia striiformis; stripe rust [Yr]) rust diseases. Despite ongoing efforts to develop resistant varieties, these diseases remain a persistent challenge due to their highly evolving nature.

PHYTOCHROME INTERACTING FACTOR4 (PIF4) plays an important role in regulating plant thermomorphogenesis. In this study, two PIF4 homologous genes, BcPIF4-1 and BcPIF4-2 (Brassica rapa subsp. CHINENSIS PIF4-1 and PIF4-2), were investigated.

Background And Aims: Chinese old garden roses are major contributors in the genetic development of modern roses. The RoKSN gene is associated with continuous flowering in roses and is proposed to have originated from Chinese wild roses. However, the wild roses that are implicated in the breeding of Chinese old garden roses and the origin of the RoKSN locus remain unidentified.
