Defect Engineering-Driven Electron Spin Polarization and Charge Transfer in MOFs for Enhanced Sonocatalytic Therapy.

Sonocatalytic therapy (SCT) is a non-invasive tumor treatment modality that utilizes ultrasound (US)- activated sonocatalysts to generate reactive oxygen species (ROS), whose production critically dependent on the electronic structural properties of the catalytic sites. However, the spin state, which is a pivotal descriptor of electronic properties, remains underappreciated in SCT. Herein, a Ti-doped zirconium-based MOF (Ti-UiO-66, denoted as UTN) with ligand-deficient defects is constructed for SCT, revealing the important role of the electronic spin state in modulating intrinsic catalytic activity.

Optimizing bio-imaging with computationally designed polymer nanoparticles.

Conjugated polymer nanoparticles (CPNs), especially poly(-phenylene ethynylene) nanoparticles (PPE-NPs), are promising candidates for bio-imaging due to their high photostability, adjustable optical characteristics, and biocompatibility. Despite their potential, the fluorescence mechanisms of these nanoparticles are not yet fully understood. In this work, we modeled a spherical PPE-NP in a water environment using 30 PPE dimer chains.

Resonant three-photon ionization spectroscopy has been used to study the late 4d and 5d transition metal carbides RuC, RhC, OsC, IrC, and PtC. These species, like most diatomic transition metals with open nd subshells, exhibit an exceptionally high density of states near the ground separated atom limit. Spin-orbit and nonadiabatic interactions provide a means for the molecules to rapidly dissociate as soon as the bond dissociation energy (BDE) is exceeded.

IO-202 is a humanized immunoglobulin G1 monoclonal antibody with high affinity and specificity for leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor B4 (LILRB4; ILT3), which is predominantly expressed in monocytes and monocytic blasts. IO-202 induces antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity and antibody-dependent cellular phagocytosis in vitro and in patients with leukemia. Herein, we present the phase 1a dose escalation data of IO-202 as monotherapy and in combination with azacitidine (AZA) in patients with relapsed/refractory (R/R) acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and R/R chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML), and the phase 1b dose expansion data of IO-202 combined with AZA for the treatment of hypomethylating agent (HMA)-naïve CMML.

Introduction: The infratemporal fossa (ITF) represents a complex anatomical region of critical relevance in skull base surgery, particularly due to its involvement in the extension of neoplastic lesions. Surgical access to this region remains technically demanding. The orbitozygomatic (OZ) and transmandibular (TM) approaches offer distinct anatomical perspectives and operative corridors.
