A ten-week-old male Golden retriever puppy was presented with severe hyperesthesia, mild neurological deficits and episcleral bleeding. Clotting times showed a normal prothrombin time (PT) and prolonged activated partial thromboplastin time (aPPT). Computed tomography (CT) of the vertebral column showed intradural, extraparenchymal hyperattenuating changes on precontrast CT images and epidural mass lesions, suggestive of hematorrhachis. Hemophilia A was confirmed by a low-factor VIII activity (FVIII:C). Although the dog improved clinically with intravenous analgesia and cage rest, it was euthanized by the owners' choice because of the risk of developing future episodes of spontaneous hemorrhage. In young male puppies with severe hyperesthesia and mild neurological deficits, hemophilia A should be considered as a possible differential diagnosis.

This retrospective multicentre study investigated haemorrhagic myelopathy as a rare complication of steroid-responsive meningitis-arteritis (SRMA) in nine dogs. The affected dogs exhibited varied neurological deficits, including cervical hyperesthesia, generalised stiffness, ambulatory tetraparesis, and, in the most severe cases, paraplegia without nociception. MRI findings primarily localised haemorrhagic lesions to the thoracolumbar (T3-L3) region, with intradural-extramedullary haemorrhages being the most common type.

Background: Iatrogenic and traumatic sensory nerve injury at the level of the wrist can lead to debilitating neuroma. Targeted muscle reinnervation (TMR) is an effective treatment for the management of symptomatic neuromas. We investigate the use of the anterior interosseous nerve (AIN) as a recipient nerve for the treatment of iatrogenic neuromas.

Omsk hemorrhagic fever virus (OHFV) is the etiological agent of a poorly studied acute viral disease, causing several epidemic waves observed in the western Siberia regions of Omsk, Kurgan, Novosibirsk, and Tyumen. OHFV is a flavivirus and shares structural and morphological features with tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) complex viruses. The disease's symptoms show high variability, from flu-like symptoms, hyperesthesia, and petechial rush in the upper body to high fever and hemorrhagic manifestations, with a fatality rate of about 1%.

Marijuana poisoning in canines is still considered a taboo topic. Poisoning in pets is becoming increasingly common, in many cases resulting in severe clinical signs, such as ataxia, urinary incontinence, mydriasis, depression, and hyperesthesia. Colombia does not have any reliable test for the diagnosis of exposure to cannabis in animals, and it is not an obligation to report this kind of poisoning to the authorities.
