Ryan and Savulescu recently offered an ethical analysis of the use of semaglutide-based weight-loss drugs such as Ozempic. In this response, we continue the discussion and argue that their framework insufficiently addresses structural inequalities and the broader political context of obesity treatment. Positioning pharmaceutical drugs as a solution to socially produced health problems narrows moral decision-making, causing structural approaches to appear less urgent and less important.

The heart of narrative medicine is attentive listening, an often scarce resource in our democratic communities. By listening to those who are traditionally voiceless and disenfranchised-the sick, the disabled, the old, the frail-narrative medicine empowers vulnerable patients' voices against the dominant discourse of health professionals and contributes to treating the moral injuries inflicted on patients by epistemic and social injustice.

Feminine traits associated with crone consciousness can help solve many challenges that North American societies face today. This descriptive study demonstrates how six older women, ages 63-74, who identify as crones, contribute significantly as board members, mentors, social workers, daughters, mothers, coaches, and community members. Crones were part of ancient prehistorical cultures and portrayed as wise healers.

Stigma is common in people with chronic pain. At present, however, the measurement of stigma in Spanish-speaking individuals remains a challenge due to a lack of validated measures in Spanish. The present study examines the psychometric properties of the Spanish version of the Stigma Scale for Chronic Illnesses 8-item version (SSCI-8) in people with chronic pain, focusing on dimensionality, factorial invariance, reliability (internal consistency and test-retest), and construct validity.
