Purpose: Postsurgical pain (PSP) is a common complication in surgical patients that can progress to chronic pain and opioid dependence. Current analgesics, including opioids and non-opioid agents, are limited by short durations of action and adverse effects. This study reports the development and evaluation of extended-release bupivacaine microparticles (BuMPs) designed to provide sustained local analgesia and improve post-surgical pain management.

Public safety personnel (PSP), including correctional workers, firefighters, paramedics, police, and public safety communicators, are at increased risk for posttraumatic stress injury, yet face barriers in receiving timely support. Mobile health (mHealth) applications (apps) offer promising avenues for confidential, on-demand access to relevant information and support. The purpose of this study was to assess implementation of , a new mHealth platform designed by and for PSP (the platform includes two parallel apps: one for frontline workers and one for peer support providers).

New types of triarylborane compounds , ,, and ,, containing one to three ()-4-dimethylamino [2.2]paracyclophane units at different phenyl rings of triarylborane were disclosed. These molecules exhibited obvious well-separated temperature-sensitive dual fluorescence characteristics in THF, which is promising and challenging for small organic luminescent molecules.

Age-related neurodegenerative diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Alzheimer's disease (AD) and Parkinson's disease (PD) are an increasing public health concern. Whereas the pathology of these diseases is complex, chronic central inflammation, or neuroinflammation, is commonly observed across many neurodegenerative diseases. Despite a huge wealth of resources and promising preclinical testing, effective disease-modifying therapies do not exist.
