Background And Study Aims: The appendoscope, derived from the peroral digital single-operator cholangioscope, is an endoscopic device enabling direct visualization of the appendix lumen for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes. This study aimed to investigate diagnostic and therapeutic efficacy of appendoscope-assisted endoscopic retrograde appendicitis therapy (ERAT) in patients with appendicitis.
Patents And Methods: A total of 131 patients were enrolled in the study, with 125 included in the final analysis.

Background: Digital single-operator cholangioscopy (DSOC) enhances biliary stricture diagnosis, but the collection of quality samples can be difficult due to the small diameter of the working channel.
Objectives: A new DSOC system (EyeMAX™ 11Fr; Micro-Tech Endoscopy, Nanjing, China) with a 2.0-mm working channel, accommodating pediatric forceps (1.
Objectives: Cholangioscopy-guided mapping biopsy (CMB) is performed for preoperative evaluation of extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. The aim of this study was to evaluate the usefulness of CMB using a SpyBite Max and to determine the effectiveness of multiple biopsy strokes from the same site.
Methods: Between August 2020 and October 2022, 21 patients with extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma were enrolled in this prospective observational study.

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) has emerged as a transformative diagnostic tool in the realm of uncertain biliary strictures within the digestive system. Its superiority over conventional methods lies in its ability to provide submucosal assessments and real-time, wide-ranging tissue evaluations. The latest advancement in OCT technology, exemplified by the NVision Volumetric Laser Endomicroscopy (VLE) system, has significantly enhanced imaging quality and microstructure delineation, particularly in characterizing the intricate anatomy of pancreaticobiliary ducts.

In this editorial, we comment on the article by Ye . We specifically focused on the novel use of DynaCT biliary soft tissue reconstruction technology in the diagnosis and treatment of hepatolithiasis with bile duct stenosis, which is an innovative approach for enhancing the preoperative evaluation and surgical outcomes in hepatolithiasis. This study also highlights the limitations of conventional imaging techniques such as computed tomography and magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography, which have low sensitivity for small stones and complex biliary strictures.
