To explore optimized protocols for paraffin section preparation of the eyeball to enhance the histological visualization of key ocular structures. It was an experimental research, conducted from September 2022 to September 2024. The first experiment involved 18 porcine eyeballs, which were divided into five groups (six subgroups) by the random number table method.

Epigenetic regulation is fundamental to hematopoiesis, influencing stem cell fate, lineage commitment, and the development of hematologic diseases. Recent technological innovations have transitioned from traditional genetic editing towards programmable, reversible epigenetic modulation without altering the DNA sequence. This review explores the evolution of epigenetic editing platforms, from zinc finger proteins and TALEs to the transformative CRISPR-dCas9 system, and introduces next-generation technologies leveraging dCas12, dCas13, and modular RNA-guided systems.

Controlling the formation of electron polarons in TiO doped with transition metals is important for the design of transparent conducting oxides for high-efficiency photovoltaics and photocatalysts with tunable reaction selectivities. In this work, EPR spectroscopy is combined with Hubbard-corrected density functional theory (DFT+), with refined atomic-like Hubbard projectors, to show the sensitivity of charge compensation in substitutionally doped Nb-TiO and W-TiO with respect to the TiO polymorph (, anatase or rutile). Both EPR magnetic tensors and DFT+predicted Nb 4 and W 5 orbital occupancies show the formation of differing dopant charge states depending on the TiO polymorph, with nonmagnetic Nb and W in doped anatase and paramagnetic Nb and W in doped rutile.

Male infertility remains a significant global reproductive health challenge, frequently attributed to genetic mutations impairing spermatogenesis and sperm function. This narrative review aims to explore the genetic and molecular underpinnings of male infertility and evaluate the emerging role of Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats-CRISPR-associated protein 9 (CRISPR/Cas9) genome editing as a diagnostic and therapeutic tool, while addressing its associated ethical, technical, and safety considerations. A Comprehensive literature search was conducted across PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science databases, covering studies published between September 1992 and April 2025.

Children with unilateral cerebral palsy (uCP) present with brain damage, predominantly lateralized to one hemisphere, and white matter (WM) lesions, which are known to affect visual functions. However, the relation between WM tract damage and visual outcomes remains unclear. Additionally, no prior study comprehensively investigated hemispheric-specific differences in WM visual pathways between children with left- and right-sided uCP.
