This study aims to enhance the energy use of two products of industry - Queen Palm residue and kraft lignin (KF) - through the combination of two technologies - briquetting and slow pyrolysis. The addition of 20% KF provided briquettes with higher physical, energy, and mechanical properties. The yields of the pyrolysis products were affected by both the pyrolysis temperature and the addition of KF. In the bio-oil, the presence of phenols, methyl phenols, and methoxy phenols was highlighted; these compounds were present in greater quantities in the treatments with KF. It is concluded that combining the briquetting and pyrolysis processes produces both energy and economic benefits because it is possible to transport lighter loads with the same amount of energy per volume. Under the briquetting conditions adopted in this study, the addition of KF as a binder is necessary because this results in briquettes with better physical, energy and mechanical properties.

In spite of the ongoing exquisite work of a multitude of researchers worldwide including governmental institutions like the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), and for example in the United States the FDA Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT) embracing Opioid Replacement Therapy (ORT) in 2022, 111,000 people prematurely died from opioid induced overdose. It is estimated that if treatment stays as usual by 2025 the death rate will increase to 165,00.Therefore, we are encouraging the scientific and clinical community to at least consider our "out of the box" thinking whereby we are proposing a new paradigm shift involving the " dopaminergic homeostatic modeling approach and Genetic screening to early identify preaddiction.

Purpose: The health concerns of drag queens remain understudied. This paper examines the physical health and healthcare access of drag queens and reflects on ways to holistically promote their well-being.
Methods: Professional drag queens in the United States underwent the Dance/USA Task Force on Dancer Health Annual Post-Hire Health Screen, which assesses medical history, musculoskeletal metrics, and cardiovascular fitness.

The ascomycetes placed in Parmulariaceae represent a diverse assemblage of biotrophic plant parasites. They usually produce discoid/scutellinioid stromata that are external to erumpent on living leaves of plants in the tropics. Disease symptoms are usually mild, and fungal structures are often cryptic on their hosts.

Obesity increases the risk of many cancers and impairs the anti-tumour immune response. However, little is known about whether the source or composition of dietary fat affects tumour growth or anti-tumour immunity in obesity. Here, we show that high-fat diets (HFDs) derived from lard, beef tallow or butter accelerate tumour growth in a syngeneic model of melanoma, but HFDs based on coconut oil, palm oil or olive oil do not, despite equivalent obesity.
