Biocides based on chemical synthetic compounds have been commonly used to counteract damages caused by microorganisms on stone cultural heritage. However, in the last few years, the use of commercial and traditional biocides has been banned and/or limited due to their dangerous profile for the environment, as well as human and animal health. Natural products could be used as suitable alternatives for cultural heritage purposes, as they have low toxicity and stability compared with synthetic pesticides. Even if most of the investigated solutions have already shown promising results, their efficiency, ecotoxicological, and chemical features are poorly investigated. In this manuscript, we aimed to evaluate the ecotoxicological profile of four fungal metabolites-namely, cavoxin, -epoformin, seiridin, and sphaeropsidone-with potential antimicrobial properties for monumental artworks. A battery of ecotoxicological tests using (bacterium), (alga), L. (macrophyte), (crustacean), and (nematode) revealed a relative lower toxicity of these compounds, especially when compared with Preventol and Rocima, commercial biocides mainly used for the conservation of cultural heritage.

Introduction: This study evaluates two innovative protective treatments for wooden cultural heritage objects vulnerable to biodeterioration. The first involves polyacrylic resin solutions embedded with silver nanoparticles (AgNPs), while the second uses the siloxane-based coupling agent 3-mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane (3-MPTMS) to enhance AgNP adhesion to wood surfaces.
Methods: Antimicrobial, anti-biofilm, and anti-metabolic activities were assessed using both qualitative and quantitative assays against biodeteriogenic strains (, and ).

This article maps the alternative archives of the Rum community, those that do not fully align either with national mnemonics or the minority's dominant archival politics. I demonstrate how the Rum minority performs and enacts its archives-what I define as archival enactment-in order to claim grassroots agency in its mnemonic preservation. This study aims to investigate the formation of tourists' behavioral intentions in the context of City Walk experiences in Malaysia from an embodiment perspective. Guided by Cognitive Appraisal Theory, a quantitative research design was employed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). A total of 408 Chinese tourists were selected through purposive sampling and participated via both face-to-face and online surveys, given that China remains Malaysia's largest and continuously growing source of international tourists.
