Chapman's Five Love Languages have been embraced by the public and incorporated into therapeutic practice, offering a simple framework for expressing and receiving love. However, it is unclear whether the proposed five love languages fully capture the multitude of ways that individuals express love. Liquid chromatography has advanced considerably since its introduction in the 1970s, with reversed-phase liquid chromatography (RPLC) becoming the dominant technique for separating non-volatile molecules. A key strategy for optimising separation conditions is the modelling of chromatographic retention from experimental data. Traditionally, this is achieved by fitting model parameters for each solute, resulting in individual solute models (ISMs).

Background: Population surveys on child wellbeing require a brief, validated tool to measure child and adolescent maltreatment. The 7-item Short Child Maltreatment Questionnaire (SCMQ), developed by a WHO expert committee, has not been psychometrically tested.
Objective: This study aimed to determine the factor structure, measurement invariance and correlates of a modified version of the SCMQ (6 of its 7 items) in a sample of adolescents attending schools in England.

Rapid detection of live Salmonella typhimurium in food is critical for preventing contamination and protecting public health. Traditional methods, though reliable, are slow, costly, and require centralized labs. Many existing biosensors primarily detect dead bacteria, increasing false-positive risks.
