Neonatal diabetes mellitus (NDM) is a monogenic form of diabetes occurring mainly in the first 6 months of life. Approximately 30% of transient NDM (TNDM) cases will have an activating mutation in the K channel genes and . The majority of the patients with mutations who are receiving insulin treatment can be transferred to treatment with sulfonylurea (SU), with an improvement in metabolic control and quality of life. Intermittent continuous glucose monitoring (iCGM) is used to assess the current and retrospective interstitial glucose, providing information such as hypo/hyperglycemia tendency and time on target. This case report describes the use of iCGM in the transition from insulin treatment to glibenclamide in a patient with TNDM caused by a pathogenic variant of . This is the first report of a successful outpatient transition from insulin to glibenclamide, in a Brazilian child with TNDM using iCGM (FreeStyle Libre@). The remote monitoring and online management allowed the patient to safely stay at home during the transition from insulin to SU, especially important in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. We conclude that iCGM is a helpful tool in cases of NDM and should be used to increase safety and speed up dose adjustments in outpatient transition from insulin to glibenclamide.

Emerging evidence highlights the potential of bioactive compounds, particularly polyphenols, as adjunctive therapeutic agents in the treatment of pancreatic cancer (PC), one of the most aggressive malignancies. This review focuses on epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) and resveratrol due to their extensively documented anticancer activity, favorable safety profiles, and their unique ability to modulate multiple signaling pathways relevant to pancreatic tumorigenesis. Among polyphenols, these two have shown superior anti-cancer activity, epigenetic regulatory effects, and synergy with standard chemotherapies in preclinical pancreatic cancer models.

The study aimed to determine whether confinement with TMR during the first 21 DIM, followed by grazing supplemented with partial mixed ration (PMR), alleviates negative energy balance, enhancing productive performance and accelerating the resumption of ovarian cyclicity in primiparous and multiparous dairy cows, relative to a control group managed on grazing supplemented with PMR after calving. Following calving, 16 primiparous and 24 multiparous Holstein dairy cows were blocked and randomly distributed into 2 treatments: one included grazing plus supplementation with PMR after calving (T0), while the other one involved confinement with TMR ad libitum during the first 21 DIM and the same feeding management of T0 from d 22 onwards until 60 DIM (T21). Primiparous cows showed no significant differences between treatments in milk production.

We present a new and considerably improved version of RoAM (Reconstruction of Ancient Methylation), a flexible tool for reconstructing ancient methylomes and identifying differentially methylated regions (DMRs) between populations. Through a series of filtering and quality control steps, RoAM produces highly reliable DNA methylation maps, making it a valuable tool for paleoepigenomics studies. We apply RoAM to pre-and post-Neolithic transition Balkan samples, and uncover DMRs in genes related to sugar metabolism.
