In this paper, micro-sized silver particles were prepared using a simple chemical approach without adjusting the pH of the solution, and oleylamine as a capping agent was described to promote the dispersion of the silver particles. The effects of temperature, feeding time and stirring speed on the morphology and size distribution of silver particles were discussed. The optimal reaction parameters (35 °C, 45 min, 300 rpm) for large scale industrial production were selected to obtained optimal silver particles for preparation of the silver paste for poly-crystalline silicon solar cells. The photoelectric conversion efficiency of the solar cells made with silver paste by using the silver particles can reach 18.623%, which is similar to the industrial production of solar cell made with commercial silver paste. This work contributes to the development of the synthesis of highly disperse silver particles used in solar cells in large scale industrial productions.

This work assesses the current characterization framework of single-use personal protective equipment (PPE) per recognized consensus standards and presents a novel quantitative approach to refining characterization of barrier materials and predicting PPE performance. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and image analysis software (Diameter J) were used to examine the microscopic fiber and pore structure of filter layers of surgical N95 filtering facepiece respirators, before and after exposure to chemicals used in decontamination modalities (vaporized hydrogen peroxide or ozone). The effect of porosity on penetration was assessed by bacterial filtration efficiency (BFE) testing.

There has been ongoing interest in the fabrication of silver-iron oxide composite nanostructures due to their effectiveness in antimicrobial, catalytic, and sensing applications. However, traditional processes involve multiple steps and harsh conditions, making them time-consuming and energy-intensive. A focused laser beam is used as an alternative tool to fabricate fluorescent silver-iron oxide composite nanostructures.

This study synthesizes BaTiO/Ag nanocomposite particles using an eco-friendly sonochemical method and investigates the mechanism of Ag-nanoparticle deposition. BaTiO and AgO were ultrasonically irradiated in methanol at 20 ˚C, and samples and solvents were characterized using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, scanning transmission electron microscopy with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller method, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Nanocomposite particles uniformly decorated with fine Ag nanoparticles were obtained via ultrasonication (>45 kHz) for 3 h.

Lead halide perovskites (LHP) are solution-processible semiconductor materials with high optical gain and broad wavelength tunability, making them well-suited for laser applications. Here, we present a solution-based method for the three-dimensional conformal coating of LHP microcrystals with noble metals. A nanoscale metal coating layer was found to significantly enhance both laser performance and environmental stability.

The current study aims to develop chitosan transdermal patches containing AgNPs synthesized and characterized from to reduce inflammation. Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were prepared utilizing the extract and characterized through Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), zeta potential measurements, and particle size analysis. The AgNPs were incorporated into chitosan-based transdermal patches, which were assessed for physicochemical properties, dermal compatibility, and anti-inflammatory effectiveness.
