Article Abstract

Peer review aims to select articles for publication and to improve articles before publication. We believe that this process can be infused by kindness without losing rigor. In 2014, the founding editorial team of the (CJKHD) made an explicit commitment to treat authors as we would wish to be treated ourselves. This broader group of authors reaffirms this principle, for which we suggest the terminology "supportive review."

Metagenomic analyses of microbial communities have unveiled a substantial level of interspecies and intraspecies genetic diversity by reconstructing metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs). The MAG database (MAGdb) boasts an impressive collection of 74 representative research papers, spanning clinical, environmental, and animal categories and comprising 13,702 paired-end run accessions of metagenomic sequencing and 99,672 high quality MAGs with manually curated metadata. MAGdb provides a user-friendly interface that users can browse, search, and download MAGs and their corresponding metadata information.

This qualitative study explores what factors influence teaming in behavioral health settings, from the perspective of behavioral health providers. Twenty-four participants from a range of behavioral health professions engaged in semi-structured interviews. Using a grounded theory approach, data were analyzed, and a "prism" model was developed to capture the complexities of behavioral health providers' perceptions of factors influencing teaming in various mental health and/or substance use disorder treatment programs.

Digital evidence plays a critical role in solving crimes, making its quality essential. This study examines the implementation of a structured, checklist-based peer review process for technical analysis reports within digital forensic units of the Norwegian Police. It incorporates two data collections: a qualitative study based on interviews following a trial implementation, and a quantitative survey assessing peer review practices one year after the trial.
