Objective: Laryngeal sensory neuropathy (LSN) is an irritating laryngeal disorder that may cause intractable cough, globus sensation, and frequent throat clearing. Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is the most common rheumatological disease in children. Besides the more severe systemic form, non-systemic JIA is divided into 5 different subgroups. Polyarticular JIA (polyJIA), particularly rheumatoid factor (RF)-positive, which is defined as the disease involving five or more joints in the first 6 months of disease, has the worst prognosis.

Objectives: Lafora disease (LD) is a fatal progressive myoclonic epilepsy, characterized by disabling myoclonus, intractable seizures, and progressive cognitive decline. At the onset of symptoms, however, distinction from idiopathic generalized epilepsies may be difficult based on EEG because the background activity is typically preserved and the only abnormalities are rare generalized spike-and-wave discharges facilitated by the intermittent light stimulation. This underscores the urgent need for early biomarkers of the disease, particularly as disease-modifying therapies are being developed.

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a prototype of chronic, progressive, and fibrotic lung disease. Excessive deposition of extracellular matrix (ECM) results in fibrotic remodeling, alveolar destruction, and irreversible lung dysfunction. In addition to myofibroblast activation and ECM deposition, repetitive lung epithelial cell damage and reprogramming areconsidered to be closely involved in IPF pathogenesis.

We conducted a systematic literature review of randomised controlled trials (RCTs) on the use of cannabidiol (CBD) as a supplementary treatment for refractory idiopathic epilepsy in dogs. The objective was to summarise the efficacy and adverse effects of CBD treatment and assess the potential risk of bias in conducted studies, including an assessment of the effects thereof on the evaluation of CBD for clinical use. Studies were included in the review if they were RCTs comparing groups of dogs with refractory idiopathic epilepsy treated with CBD oil or placebo oil, respectively.
