ANCA-associated vasculitis, such as granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA) and microscopic polyangiitis (MPA), are rare systemic diseases causing necrotizing inflammation of small blood vessels. Renal involvement is common, leading to acute kidney injury with hematuria and proteinuria. Diagnosis is based on serological tests (PR3-ANCA, MPO-ANCA) and renal histology via biopsy, which helps assess the extent of lesions.

Objectives: Canadian guidelines recommend HIV testing for individuals being evaluated for syphilis. Our objective was to examine three aspects of HIV testing (ie, if an HIV test occurred, the timing of the HIV test in relation to the syphilis test and the proportion with a positive HIV test result) among syphilis tests between 2017 and 2022 from individuals with no evidence of a previous HIV diagnosis.
Design And Setting: This study is a retrospective analysis of comprehensive laboratory testing data from Ontario's provincial public health laboratory.

We analyzed clinical characteristics and disease burden in recreationally active and trained individuals with WALDA diagnosed by oral challenge test. Clinical characteristics, serological data, and quality of life (QOL) questionnaires were analyzed and completed with follow-up interviews.
