Antarctic krill () is the central prey species in the Southern Ocean food web, supporting the largest and fastest-growing fishery in the region, managed by the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR). Climate change is threatening krill populations and their predators, while current catch limits do not take into account climate variability or krill population dynamics. In 2024, CCAMLR was unable to renew its spatial catch limits, highlighting the urgent need for improved management of the krill fishery to prevent any harm to the Southern Ocean ecosystem.

Dengue fever remains a major public health concern, requiring continuous efforts to mitigate its impact. This study investigates the influence of key temperature-dependent parameters on dengue transmission dynamics in Foz do Iguaçu, a tri-border municipality in southern Brazil, using a mathematical model based on a system of ordinary differential equations. The fitted model aligns well with observed data.

Templexes are topological objects that encode the branching organization of a flow in phase space. We build on these objects to introduce the concept of topological modes of variability (TMVs). TMVs are defined as dynamical manifestations of algebraically defined cycles, called generatexes, in the templex; they provide a concrete link between abstract topological invariants and time-dependent behavior in a model or in observations.

Introduction: Although marathon events have gained global popularity and align closely with public health objectives, limited research has explored how individuals perceive the attractiveness of these events and how such perceptions influence participation intention. This study introduces the concept of "perceived attractiveness" as a multidimensional evaluation encompassing emotional, symbolic, cultural, and convenience facets related to participation. Drawing upon self-determination theory and self-efficacy theory, the study investigates how perceived attractiveness predicts participation intention, mediated by exercise-related self-efficacy.
