Purpose: This meta-analysis compares thoracoscopic versus open thoracotomy repair of esophageal atresia with tracheoesophageal fistula (EA/TEF).
Methods: We systematically searched PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and Scopus from inception to April 2025 for studies comparing thoracoscopic versus conventional thoracotomy approaches. Two independent reviewers screened studies, extracted data, and assessed risk of bias using appropriate tools.

Cells may exploit oscillatory gene expression to encode biological information. Temporal features of oscillations, such as pulse frequency and amplitude, are determinant for the outcome of signalling pathways. However, little effort has been devoted to unveiling the role of pulsatility in the context of post-transcriptional gene regulation, where microRNAs act by binding to RNAs and regulate their expression.

Membrane receptor recognition is a specific biotargeting strategy for disease diagnosis and treatment, but it suffers from insufficient receptor expression levels. Hydrophobic interaction-based membrane anchoring strategy allows high anchoring density, but it lacks specificity. In this study, we present a DNA nanocage-based artificial receptor generator (DNARG) that combines the advantages of high specificity of receptor recognition and high density of hydrophobic membrane anchoring.

Objective: Valve selection in acute type A aortic dissection (ATAAD) requiring aortic root replacement is challenging given the clinical acuity, unknown patient preferences, risk of surgical bleeding, and limited life expectancy. We sought to identify long-term outcomes of mechanical versus bioprosthetic aortic root replacement in young patients with ATAAD.
Methods: Retrospective review of our institution's database of ATAAD was conducted to identify patients aged 65 years and younger who underwent mechanical Bentall (mech-Bentall) or bioprosthetic Bentall (bio-Bentall) for ATAAD from 2002 to 2022.

Background: Interventional radiology (IR) is a growing field with wide applications. However, awareness of IR is limited, especially among medical students and particularly in developing countries where its practice is deficient.
Purpose: To assess and compare knowledge, awareness, and interest in IR among medical students at the University of Khartoum, Sudan, a developing country where the practice of IR faces many challenges, including the 2023 war.
