Background: The effect of supplementation of essential amino acids (EAAs) in knee osteoarthritis (OA) remains unclear. This study aimed to evaluate whether supplementation with EAA improves pain, patient-reported outcome measures, gait function, and quadriceps muscle volume in patients undergoing conservative treatment for knee OA.

Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted on outpatients undergoing physical therapy from April 2024 to March 2025.

Long COVID-19 alters muscle architecture and muscle-tendon force transmission: a one-year longitudinal study.

Front Physiol

August 2025

Laboratory of Muscle and Tendon Plasticity, Graduate Program in Rehabilitation Science, Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologias em Saúde, Universidade de Brasília, Brasília, Brazil.

Introduction: There are limited studies on the long-term effects of COVID-19 on skeletal muscle morphology and architecture. Therefore, this study aims to address this gap by assessing the effects of prior COVID-19 infection on quadriceps muscle architecture and tendon-aponeurosis complex (TAC) properties over a one-year period, comparing three cohorts: individuals with moderate COVID-19, individuals with severe COVID-19, and a healthy control group.

Methods: Seventy participants were included in the study and allocated to three groups: moderate COVID-19 (n = 22), severe COVID-19 (n = 18), and control (n = 30).

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the relationship between ankle joint function and walking performance in older adults by assessing qualitative ankle functions through torque fluctuation analysis and tibialis anterior (TA) intramuscular coherence during isometric dorsiflexion.

Methods: Thirty-eight community-dwelling older adults participated in this study. Ankle torque fluctuations and intramuscular coherence were evaluated during a dorsiflexion task at 30% of maximum voluntary torque (MVT).

Robust tracking control of uncertain autoloaders by implicit Lyapunov method and scleronomic Lagrangian mechanics-informed neural network.

ISA Trans

Key Laboratory of Metallurgical Equipment and Control Technology of Ministry of Education, Wuhan University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, 430081, Hubei, China; Hubei Key Laboratory of Mechanical Transmission and Manufacturing Engineering, Wuhan University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, 430081

The autoloader is a key subsystem in modern main battle tanks, mainly responsible for ammunition transfer, loading, and resupply. However, it often suffers from uncertainties induced by base oscillations, leading to potential instability. While various control strategies have been proposed, most rely on prior knowledge of such oscillations.

Host - microbiome interactions are central to Crohn'sdisease (CD) pathogenesis; yet the early metabolic alterations that precededisease onset remain poorly defined. To explore preclinical metabolicsignatures of CD, we analyzed baseline serum metabolomic profiles in a nestedcase-control study within the Crohn's and Colitis Canada - Genetics, Environment, Microbiome (CCC-GEM) Project, a prospective cohort of 5,122 healthyfirst-degree relatives (FDRs) of CD patients. We included 78 individuals wholater developed CD and 311 matched FDRs who remained disease-free.
