Article Abstract
Hydrophobic latent C-terminal thioesters were converted into thioesters, and were also coupled with cysteine in one-pot reactions, using conditions generally compatible with hydrophobic materials. The reaction conditions (ethanethiol and triethylamine in a mixture of DMF and THF) are compatible with acid-labile protecting groups (Boc/t-Bu) that are standard in Fmoc peptide synthesis.

Transcranial sonography (TCS) is widely acknowledged as a frontline imaging tool in movement disorder practice, particularly for separating idiopathic Parkinson's disease from its many mimics. In recent years, however, investigators have extended its reach, showing that the same portable probe can also capture structural and hemodynamic signatures of neuropsychiatric disorders and the major dementia syndromes. Across neuropsychiatry, a dim ("hypoechoic") median raphe emerges as the sonographic hallmark of serotonergic imbalance: it recurs in major depressive disorder, bipolar depression, and panic disorder, predicts better response to selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, and even foreshadows post-stroke depression.

Background: A hypertensive response to exercise unmasks hypertension and is associated with future cardiovascular events. Yet, there is heterogeneity in blood pressure response patterns to exercise by age and sex, and some high-risk trajectories may go undetected if only focusing on peak blood pressure.
Methods: We analyzed blood pressure data from 13 945 patients who underwent a Bruce protocol exercise tolerance test between 2016 and 2020, including the rate of change across stages.
