We report mean severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 serial intervals for Montana, USA, from 583 transmission pairs; infectors' symptom onset dates occurred during March 1-July 31, 2020. Our estimate was 5.68 (95% CI 5.27-6.08) days, SD 4.77 (95% CI 4.33-5.19) days. Subperiod estimates varied temporally by nonpharmaceutical intervention type and fluctuating incidence.

Nipah virus (NiV) has emerged as a significant public health threat, with recurring outbreaks in Bangladesh often linked to the consumption of raw date palm sap contaminated by fruit bats (Pteropus species). Over the past two decades, substantial efforts have been made to understand the cultural context of sap consumption, promoting behavior change and developing interventions to prevent NiV spillover. Despite these efforts, achieving sustainable change in sap consumption practices remains challenging due to deep-seated cultural practices, community perceptions of sap consumption, habitual behaviors, limited awareness of health risks and economic barriers.

Topological photonics explores photonic systems that exhibit robustness against defects and disorder, enabled by protection from underlying topological phases. These phases are typically realized in linear optical systems and characterized by their intrinsic photonic band structures. Here we experimentally study Floquet Chern insulators in periodically driven nonlinear photonic crystals, where the topological phase is controlled by the polarization and the frequency of the driving field.

Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy has changed how we treat blood cancers but hasn't worked as well for solid tumors like pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), mainly because these tumors are very aggressive and resistant to regular treatments. This review critically examines peer-reviewed studies to chart the evolution of immunotherapy in PDAC, emphasizing the unique barriers to effective CAR T-cell treatment and emerging strategies to overcome them. CAR T-cells that focus on tumor-related markers like mesothelin, HER2, and MUC1 have shown promise in early research models.

Pigment dynamics in temperate evergreen forests remain poorly characterized, despite their year-round photosynthetic activity and importance for carbon cycling. Developing rapid, nondestructive methods to estimate pigment composition enables high-throughput assessment of plant acclimation states. In this study, we investigate the seasonality of eight chlorophyll and carotenoid pigments and hyperspectral reflectance data collected at both the needle (400-2400 nm) and canopy (420-850 nm) scales in Pinus palustris (longleaf pine) at the Ordway Swisher Biological Station in north-central Florida, USA.
