Metabolic synergy between astrocytes and neurons is key to maintaining normal brain function. As the main supporting cells in the brain, astrocytes work closely with neurons through intercellular metabolic synergy networks to jointly regulate energy metabolism, lipid metabolism, synaptic transmission, and cerebral blood flow. This important synergy is often disrupted in neurological diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and stroke.

Electroacupuncture (EA) has demonstrated protective effects against hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury (HIRI) in rat models. This study aimed to explore the underlying molecular mechanisms by which EA exerts its protective effects against HIRI. Gene expression microarray data from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database were analyzed to identify genes associated with HIRI, followed by differential expression analysis.

Objectives: To investigate the therapeutic effect of electroacupuncture (EA) at Zusanli (ST36) acupoint on hyperlipidemia in mice and explore the underlying mechanisms.
Methods: Thirty C57BL/6J mice were equally randomized into normal diet group, high-fat diet (HFD) group, and EA group. The changes in blood lipids and serum malondialdehyde (MDA) content of the mice were evaluated, and histopathological changes and lipid accumulation in the liver were observed using Oil red O staining (ORO).
