The deposited Cs is one of the long-lived radionuclides, that was released following the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant (FDNPP) accident, has been hydrologically transported as particulates in the terrestrial environment of the Fukushima region. The impact of freeze-thaw processes and subsequent runoff affecting the Cs flux and concentration in sediment discharge were revealed in bare land erosion plot following the FDNPP accident by detailed monitoring and laser scanner measurement on the soil surface. We found that surface topographic changes due to the frost-heaving during the winter-spring period, and rill formation during the summer. We also found the evident seasonal changes in Cs concentration; high during the early spring and gradually decreased thereafter, then surface runoff from the plot frequently occurred during spring and autumn when rainfall was high and reached a maximum in summer. From these results, the higher Cs concentration in spring was caused by a mixture of unstable surface sediment following freeze-thaw processes and then transported in the early spring, but erosion amount is not significant because of the less rainfall event. The sediment with a lower Cs concentration, which was supplied from the rill erosion and its expansion, was wash-offed during the summer, contributing most of the flux from erosion in bare land in Fukushima region. In case, heavy rainfall occurs in the early spring, caution is required because high concentrations of cesium may flow down into the river.

XXXXX recently added brain to its fentanyl analog testing method for 14 analogs (fluoroisobutyryl fentanyl, acetyl fentanyl, acryl fentanyl, alfentanil, butyryl fentanyl, carfentanil, fentanyl, para-fluorofentanyl, furanyl fentanyl, methoxyacetyl fentanyl, norcarfentanil, norfentanyl, sufentanil, and valeryl fentanyl) and 3 U-series drugs (U-47700, U-48800, and U-49900). Brain is a protected and isolated organ with lower metabolic activity than other tissues, which can assist in interpreting results and preserving parent drug. Limited publications testing brain samples for fentanyl and fentanyl analogs exist and none describe homogenate stability for these analytes.

The characteristics of gel texture, water holding properties, volatile and non-volatile flavor compounds and flavor precursors were investigated to reveal the effect of the "heating-low temperature storage-reheating" procedure on the sensory properties of silver carp surimi gel. The results on textural and water holding properties demonstrated that the cold storage treatment preserved the structural stability of the surimi gels. However, freeze-thaw cycles resulted in a decrease in breaking force, hardness, and water holding capacity.
