Article Abstract

In this research, an efficient (94.9-99.4%) and fast (5 min) method has been developed and validated for simultaneous identification and quantification of phenolic endocrine disrupting compounds with an emphasis on bisphenol A (BPA) and 4-cumylphenol (4-CP) in food stuffs using a dual-template magnetic, molecularly-imprinted polymer (dt-MMIP). The dt-MMIP was synthesized by a sol-gel method using FeO@SiO (as the core) and BPA and 4-CP (as templates). The dt-MMIP was coupled with magnetic solid phase extraction to simultaneously detect BPA and 4-CP in food samples. BPA was measured from bottled water and fruit juice samples samples at 0.36 and 0.24 ng mL, respectively, while 4-CP in those samples was 0.33 and 0.16 ng mL, respectively. Their detection limits were estimated as 0.04 and 0.05 ng mL, respectively. The developed dt-MMIP method was highly reproducible, while maintaining a good cyclability up to 20 cycles.

The coexistence of multiple contaminates in the environment and food is of growing concern due to their extremely hazard as a well-known class I carcinogen, like aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) and benzo(α)pyrene (BaP). AFB1 and BaP are susceptible to coexistence in environmental water and edible oil, posing a significant potential risk to environmental monitoring and food safety. The remaining challenges in detecting multiple contaminates include unsatisfied sensitivity, insufficient targets selectivity, and interferences in complex matrices.

Specific capture is a beneficial tactic in simultaneous monitoring of sulfonamides (SAs) and quinolones (QLs). For this purpose, a new magnetic molecularly imprinted adsorbent based on double-template molecules (DT-MIP@MNA) was facilely prepared by "one-pot" hydrothermal technique and utilized as the adsorbent of magnetic solid-phase extraction (MSPE). Molecular simulation technique was employed to quickly screen functional monomer.

An eco-friendly magnetic dual-dummy-template molecularly imprinted polymer (MDDMIP) was prepared by a "one-pot" green synthesis using mixed-valence iron hydroxide as the magnetic material, a deep eutectic solvent as the coporogen, and caffeic acid and glutamic acid as binary monomers. The adsorption properties toward organophosphorus pesticides (OPPs) were investigated. High adsorption capacities (269.

Water pollution is a worldwide problem that requires urgent attention and prevention and exceeding use of heavy-metal ions is one of the most harmful factors, which poses a serious threat to human health and the ecological environment. In this work, a magnetic oxidized micro/mesoporous carbon (MOMMC) was prepared for the easy separation of Cu(II) and Pb(II) from water. The dual-template method was used to prepare micro/mesoporous carbon using sucrose as the carbon source, silica nanoparticles formed by tetraethyl orthosilicate as the microporous templates, and triblock copolymer F127 as the mesoporous template.

A novel dual-template magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer (MMIP) was synthesized to extract normetanephrine (NMN), metanephrine (MN) and 3-methoxytyramine (3-MT) from spot urine samples. As the adsorbent of dispersive solid-phase extraction (d-SPE), the MMIP was prepared using dopamine and MN as dual templates, methacrylic acid as the functional monomer, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as the crosslinking reagent and magnetic nanoparticles as the magnetic core. NMN, MN, 3-MT and creatinine (Cr) in spot urine samples were selectively enriched by d-SPE and detected by HPLC-fluorescence detection/ultraviolet detection.
