Cadmium (Cd) pollution in rice agroecosystems has become a pressing worldwide environmental challenge. Straw return leads to Cd re-entering the soil, yet the impact of straw removal (SR) on Cd mobility and bioavailability within this system remains unclear. We implemented a four-season field study to evaluate how different SR intensities (NSR: no rice straw was removed; HSR: half of the rice straw was removed; TSR: all the rice straw was removed) influence Cd availability in this system.

Radiation-induced single event effects in vertically prolonged drain dual gate Si Ge source TFET.

J Mol Model

Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, National Institute of Technology Patna, Patna, Bihar, India.

Context: This study investigates the radiation tolerance of a SiGe source vertical tunnel field effect transistor (VTFET) under heavy ion-induced single event effects (SEEs). Single event effects (SEEs) occur when high-energy particles interact with semiconductor devices, leading to unintended behavior. The effect of high energy ions on the VTFET is examined for various linear energy transfer (LET) values and at multiple ion hit locations.

Ovarian cancer remains a major health threat with limited treatment options available. It is characterized by immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME) maintained by tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) hindering anti-tumor responses and immunotherapy efficacy. Here we show that targeting retinoblastoma protein (Rb) by disruption of its LxCxE cleft pocket causes preferential cell death in Rbhigh M2 polarized or M2-like Rbhigh immunosuppressive TAMs by induction of ER stress, p53 and mitochondria-related cell death pathways.

Memory T cells, a sizable compartment of the mature immune system, enable enhanced responses upon re-infection with the same pathogen. We have recently shown that virus-experienced innate acting T (T) cells can modulate infectious or autoimmune diseases through TCR-independent IFN-γ production. However, how these cells arise remains unclear.
