Article Abstract

In this paper, we investigate influence maximization, or optimal opinion control, in a modified version of the two-state voter dynamics in which a native state and a controlled or influenced state are accounted for. We include agent predispositions to resist influence in the form of a probability with which agents spontaneously switch back to the native state when in the controlled state. We argue that in contrast to the original voter model, optimal control in this setting depends on : For low strength of predispositions , optimal control should focus on hub nodes, but for large , optimal control can be achieved by focusing on the lowest degree nodes. We investigate this transition between hub and low-degree node control for heterogeneous undirected networks and give analytical and numerical arguments for the existence of two control regimes.

Ni-Fe (oxy)hydroxides are among the most active oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalysts in alkaline media. However, achieving precise control over local asymmetric Fe-O-Ni active sites in Ni-Fe oxyhydroxides for key oxygenated intermediates' adsorption steric configuration regulation of the OER is still challenging. Herein, we report a two-step dealloying strategy to fabricate asymmetric Fe-O-Ni pair sites in the shell of NiOOH@FeOOH/NiOOH heterostructures from NiFe Prussian blue analogue (PBA) nanocubes, involving anion exchange and structure reconstruction.

Purpose: Expanding high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine coverage in resource-constrained settings is critical to bridging the cervical cancer gap and achieving the global action plan for elimination. Mobile health (mHealth) technology via short message services (SMS) has the potential to improve HPV vaccination uptake. The mHealth-HPVac study evaluated the effectiveness of mHealth interventions in increasing HPV vaccine uptake among mothers of unvaccinated girls aged 9-14 years in Lagos, Nigeria.

Background: Severe acute pancreatitis (SAP) is a life-threatening condition requiring early risk stratification. While the Bedside Index for Severity in Acute Pancreatitis (BISAP) is widely used, its reliance on complex parameters limits its applicability in resource-constrained settings. This study introduces a decision tree model based on Classification and Regression Tree (CART) analysis, utilizing Neutrophil-to-Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR) and C-reactive Protein (CRP), as a simpler alternative for early SAP prediction.

Background: Despite advances in HIV care, viral load suppression (VLS) among adolescents living with HIV (ALHIV) in Uganda continue to lag behind that of adults, even with the introduction of dolutegravir (DTG)-based regimens, the Youth and Adolescent Peer Supporter (YAPS) model, and community-based approaches. Understanding factors associated with HIV viral load non-suppression in this population is critical to inform HIV treatment policy. This study assessed the prevalence and predictors of viral load non-suppression among ALHIV aged 10-19 years on DTG-based ART in Soroti City, Uganda.

Stroke significantly contributes to long-term disability, one of the problems is with impaired balance control, increasing the risk of falls. The risk of falls may be mitigated using reactive balance training (RBT) which has been shown to effectively reduce fall risk by enhancing reactive stepping following repeated balance perturbations. However, the optimal RBT intensity for people with chronic stroke remains unknown.
