Article Abstract

Gene therapy has been widely studied in colon cancer treatment. However, effective delivery of genes is a limitation for clinical applications. In the research, DOATP/mPEG-PLA-mPEG (DPLP) nanoparticles carrying the vesicular stomatitis virus matrix protein plasmid (pVSVMP) was used for colon cancer therapy, resulting in high transfection efficiency and expression efficiency in CT26 cells. Moreover, the DPLP-pVSVMP complex was provide with apoptosis induction and proliferation suppression of CT26 cells and can efficiently inhibit tumor growth in murine colon cancer model by inducing apoptosis, suppressing proliferation and angiogenesis. These results suggest that DPLP nanoparticles delivering pVSVMP might be a latent therapeutic avenue for colon cancer.

Introduction And Aims: Sessile serrated adenomas (SSAs) are precursor lesions of colorectal cancer (CRC) in 15-30% of cases, but due to their subtle characteristics, their endoscopic detection is a challenge. The present work aimed to determine the frequency of SSAs in patients with a history of CRC who underwent index and surveillance colonoscopies after their cancer diagnosis.

Material And Methods: An observational cohort study was conducted on patients diagnosed with CRC who underwent an index colonoscopy and at least two surveillance colonoscopies at the Instituto Nacional de Cancerología in Mexico City, between January 2015 and December 2018.

Objective: People with cystic fibrosis (pwCF) are at significantly increased risk of colorectal cancer (CRC), prompting international recommendations for earlier screening with colonoscopy. The utility of faecal immunochemical testing (FIT) as a screening adjunct in pwCF remains unclear. This study evaluates FIT's diagnostic performance and uptake within a CRC screening programme in a UK CF centre.

Extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) is a key functional food in the Mediterranean diet, renowned for its multiple health benefits. Rich in monounsaturated fatty acids, such as oleic acid, and bioactive compounds like polyphenols and tocopherols, EVOO helps reduce LDL cholesterol, increase HDL cholesterol, and protect against oxidative stress. Regular consumption is associated with a lower incidence of cardiovascular, metabolic, and neurodegenerative diseases.

This study aimed to synthesize and evaluate the anticancer activity of novel chalcone derivative against colon cancer by in vitro cytotoxicity against HCT-116 (Research Resource Identifiers:CVCL_D4JB) cell line and in vivo using EAC (Research Resource Identifiers: CVCL_1306) and DLA (Research Resource Identifiers: CVCL_VR37) cells inoculated Swiss albino mice. The present study aimed to synthesize the new chalcone derivatives and conduct its anti-colon cancer activity both in vitro and in vivo. The designed compounds were subjected to in silico studies like binding pocket analysis, molecular docking, and ADME studies.

Purpose: To build computed tomography (CT)-based radiomics models, with independent external validation, to predict recurrence and disease-specific mortality in patients with colorectal liver metastases (CRLM) who underwent liver resection.

Methods: 113 patients were included in this retrospective study: the internal training cohort comprised 66 patients, while the external validation cohort comprised 47. All patients underwent a CT study before surgery.
