The persistent primitive olfactory artery is a very rare arterial variant with a little over a score of cases reported in literature so far. We present 3 cases illustrating this entity, which were incidentally diagnosed while imaging for other indications.

Purpose: To describe and analyze two rare cases of arterial rings at the vertebrobasilar junction (VBJ), likely representing persistent segments of the primitive lateral basilovertebral anastomosis (PLBVA), and to explore their embryological origin and clinical significance.
Materials And Methods: Two morphological arterial variants were identified during a retrospective review of computed tomography angiography (CTA) scans from 505 patients. Multiplanar reconstruction and three-dimensional volume rendering were used for anatomical characterization.

Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is an aggressive hematologic malignancy characterized by the clonal expansion of primitive hematopoietic stem cells. Despite therapeutic advances, including chemotherapy, hypomethylating agents, and FLT3 inhibitors, resistance and relapse remain major clinical challenges. One of the contributors to chemoresistance in AML is the nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2), a transcription factor that regulates redox homeostasis and promotes cell survival under oxidative stress.

The transition period of the Great Oxidation Event (GOE) saw the emergence of transient physical and chemical processes. In this context, photochemical organic hazes may have evolved in an atmosphere containing low concentrations of oxygen (< 10/10 Present Atmospheric Level). This coexistence of organic aerosols and oxygen traces induced an atmospheric reactivity which has so far been unexplored.
