The possibility to estimate glucose value from voice would make a breakthrough in diabetes treatment: namely, remove the delay in the nonintrusive instantaneous blood glucose estimation, relieve medical budgets and significantly improve wellbeing of diabetics. In this review, different approaches have been described and systematized, in order to provide an objective snapshot of the state of the art. Since nonintrusive glucose estimation is notoriously difficult, we included a Transparence and Reproducibility Score aimed at revealing the biases in the primary research articles. The review is completed with the discussion on future research pathways.

Objectives: To evaluate the predictive role of carotid stiffening, quantified using ultrafast pulse wave velocity (ufPWV), for assessing cardiovascular risk in young populations with no or elevated cardiovascular risk factors (CVRFs).
Materials And Methods: This study enrolled 180 young, apparently healthy individuals who underwent ufPWV measurements. They were classified into three groups: the CVRF-free group (n = 60), comprising current non-smokers with untreated blood pressure < 140/90 mmHg, fasting blood glucose (FBG) < 7.

Multiple exogenous supplements to achieve ketosis using the oral route have been developed to elevate blood BHB levels on demand and in a controllable fashion. The focus is now shifting to evaluating these supplements as potential therapeutic agents and developing strategies to not only achieve ketosis but also maintain it. One such strategy is to administer these as a continuous IV infusion.

Importance: Youth living with type 1 diabetes (T1D) are increasingly choosing automated insulin delivery (AID) systems to manage their blood glucose. Few systematic reviews meta-analyzing results from randomized clinical trials (RCTs) are available to guide decision-making.
Objective: To study the association of prolonged AID system use in an outpatient setting with measures of glucose management and quality of life in youth with T1D.

To date, the closed-loop system represents the best commercialized management of type 1 diabetes. However, mealtimes still require carbohydrate estimation and are often associated with postprandial hyperglycemia which may contribute to poor metabolic control and long -term complications. A multicentre, prospective, non-interventional clinical trial was designed to determine the effectiveness of a novel algorithm to predict changes in blood glucose levels two hours after a usual meal.
