In engineering applications where extreme environmental conditions are becoming increasingly prevalent, the dynamic behavior of liquid droplets on solid surfaces plays a vital role in determining system efficiency and reliability. Particularly in scenarios such as anti-icing, anticorrosion, and self-cleaning, the fabrication of micro/nanostructured surfaces with exceptional hydrophobic properties has emerged as a critical strategy. However, constrained by the technical limitations of current experimental equipment in microscale observation and the capture of transient droplet impact processes, the influence mechanism of statistical roughness parameters (skewness and kurtosis) on droplet bouncing remains underexplored.

Background: The efficacy of clear aligner treatment (CAT) in space closure following premolar extraction (SCaPE) and its resistance to unwanted tooth movement remain uncertain. This systematic review aims to evaluate the efficacy, predictability, and resistance to unwanted tooth movement by CAT for SCaPE.
Methods: Pre-post studies, randomized, and non-randomized clinical trials were included.

Introduction Orthodontic treatment often involves first premolar extraction and anterior tooth retraction to achieve aesthetic and functional harmony in bimaxillary protrusion cases. However, excessive retraction may cause complications such as root resorption and bone loss. This study aimed to evaluate morphometric changes in anterior mandibular alveolar bone and root length during retraction of the mandibular incisors in patients with class I bimaxillary protrusion using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT).

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the biomechanical effects of en-masse versus alternate retraction during aligner treatment in premolar-extraction cases.
Methods: Four finite element analysis models of maxillary first premolar extraction were created: Group I (en-masse retraction), Group II (canine distalization), Group III (incisor retraction) and Group IV (alternate retraction). Various aligner torque compensations (0°, 1°, 2°, 3°) were applied on the anterior teeth.
