Objective: Pain hypersensitivity and hypersensitivity to other sensory modalities (visual, auditory, olfactory, and tactile) are considered defining features in nociplastic pain states. A self-report measure of sensory sensitivity may help to characterize sensory profiles across pain populations. This study aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of a newly developed Danish nine-item Sensory Sensitivity Profile (SSP) questionnaire in patients with fibromyalgia.

Introduction: Cardiac amyloidosis is an underdiagnosed disease, and its prevalence is probably higher than previously estimated. We aimed to investigate the effect of introducing a systemic diagnostic algorithm for cardiac amyloidosis in clinical practice.

Methods: A systematic diagnostic algorithm was developed and clinically applied in two hospitals in Eastern Denmark.

Using longitudinal national prescribing data, we estimated the number of transgender and gender-diverse individuals initiating gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT) from 2013 to 2024 in Australia. Between 2013 and 2024, 11 883 individuals initiated testosterone-based GAHT and 20 358 initiated oestrogen-based GAHT. Initiation rose from 1118 in 2013 to 5135 in 2024, with a growing share accessing testosterone-based GAHT over time.

Introduction/aims: There is a lack of up-to-date information on the burden of motor neuron diseases (MNDs) in the United States (US). This study aimed to estimate trends in the prevalence, incidence, mortality, and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) for MNDs in the US from 1990 to 2021.

Methods: We performed a secondary analysis of MNDs in the US using estimates of prevalence, incidence, and mortality obtained from analyses of the Global Burden of Disease 2021 dataset.

Influenza viruses can be aerosolized when slaughtering infected chickens, which increases the risk of zoonotic transmission. We conducted pilot experiments to measure the concentrations of airborne particles <2.5 μm during slaughtering and defeathering of chickens to help identify methods that can minimize workers' exposure to potentially hazardous aerosol particles.
