Purpose: Compared with retrospective ECG-gated arterial phase scan, to investigate the clinical application value of dual-source CT large-spiral arterial late scan in the imaging evaluation of left atrial appendage (LAA).
Patients And Methods: A total of 108 patients requiring LAA CT angiography (CTA) due to atrial fibrillation (AF) were selected from September 2024 to December 2024, including 52 patients in group A (Flash large-spiral arterial late scan) and 56 patients in group B (retrospective ECG-gated arterial phase scan). All patients underwent double-phase scan.

Background: Greater deposits of epicardial adipose tissue are associated with atrial fibrillation and coronary disease, but have not been studied in subsistence populations.
Methods: We performed CT imaging to measure coronary artery and thoracic aortic calcium (CAC, TAC), epicardial fat thickness (EFT), liver density, and left atrial (LA) anteroposterior diameter and, using a deep learning-enabled software program, epicardial and thoracic fat volume (EFV, TFV), in two remote Amerindian subsistence populations with minimal coronary artery calcification and virtually no atrial fibrillation. We compared 893 adult Tsimane (mean age 58.

Left atrial (LA) decompression is often performed in patients on venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation to help offload the left ventricle. Atrial septal stents may be used to ensure the adequacy of LA decompression; however, if there is cardiopulmonary recovery and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation support is no longer needed, the stents require removal. We describe 3 pediatric patients who required venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation support and atrial septal stent placement who underwent successful transcatheter removal of the stents after cardiac recovery.

Background: Atrial fibrillation or flutter in rheumatic mitral stenosis (MS) increases left atrial appendage (LAA) thrombus risk despite therapeutic anticoagulation.
Case Summary: A 72-year-old woman on warfarin with moderate MS and atrial flutter presented with dyspnea. Transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) showed a large LAA thrombus despite an international normalized ratio >2.

Background And Aims: Light chain cardiac amyloidosis (AL-CA), wild-type-transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis (ATTRwt-CA) and hereditary type-transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis (ATTRv-CA) have distinct presentations, clinical courses, and prognosis. To identify differentiating echocardiographic features and their prognostic significance, we investigated a large cohort of patients with CA.
Methods: In this multi-site cohort study, CA diagnosis was verified according to guidelines.
