: Children with cerebral palsy (CP) place a considerable burden on medical costs and add to an increased number of inpatient days in Taiwan. Continuity of care (COC) has not been investigated in this population thus far. : We designed a retrospective population-based cohort study using Taiwan's National Health Insurance Research Database. Patients aged 0 to 18 years with CP catastrophic illness certificates were enrolled. We investigated the association of COC index (COCI) with medical costs and inpatient days. We also investigated the possible clinical characteristics affecting the outcome. : Over five years, children with CP with low COCI levels had higher medical costs and more inpatient days than did those with high COCI levels. Younger age at CP diagnosis, more inpatient visits one year before obtaining a catastrophic illness certificate, pneumonia, and nasogastric tube use increased medical expenses and length of hospital stay. : Improving COC reduces medical costs and the number of inpatient days in children with CP. Certain characteristics also influence these outcomes.

Purpose: The fourth phase of the Electronic Medical Records and Genome Network (eMERGE4) is testing the return of 10 polygenic risk scores (PRS) across multiple clinics. Understanding the perspectives of health-system leaders and frontline clinicians can inform plans for implementation of PRS.
Methods: Fifteen health-system leaders and 20 primary care providers (PCPs) took part in semi-structured interviews.

Aims: The increasing antimicrobial resistance, particularly in Acinetobacter baumannii, complicates the treatment of infections, leading to higher morbidity, mortality, and economic costs. Herein, we aimed to determine the in vitro antimicrobial, synergistic, and antibiofilm activities of colistin (COL), meropenem, and ciprofloxacin antibiotics, and curcumin, punicalagin, geraniol (GER), and linalool (LIN) plant-active ingredients alone and in combination against 31 multidrug-resistant (MDR) A. baumannii clinical isolates.

Objectives: The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) in England introduced early value assessments (EVAs) as an evidence-based method of accelerating access to promising health technologies that could address unmet needs and contribute to the National Health Service's Long Term Plan. However, there are currently no published works considering differences and commonalities in methods used between Assessment Reports for EVAs.
Methods: This rapid scoping review included all completed EVAs published on the NICE website up to 23 July 2024.

Objective: The complexity of β-thalassaemia with associated morbidity, lifelong daily expensive treatment, and multidisciplinary care results in a considerable disease burden. Our study aimed to revisit the β-thalassaemia burden using epidemiological, clinical, and financial indicators related to patients, families, and healthcare systems.
Methods: Patient density measures, transfusion indices, complication rates, universal health coverage, and other indicators were tabulated by country and region.

Background: Research on the relationship between physical activity and medical expenses among individuals with obesity has been sparse. This study investigates that association using nationwide data from Korea.
Methods: We analyzed data from the National Sample Cohort of the Korean National Health Insurance Service, including 112,531 adults with obesity who underwent at least two health screenings within a 2-year interval between 2009 and 2015.
