In optical networks, such as OPS/OBS, the network results into significant loss in the network layer. When the loss significantly deteriorates the QoS by increasing the Bit Error Rate (BER), a viable approach can be used to increase the performance. This paper presents state of the art of Quality of Service (QoS) schemes used for improving the performance of optical networks. Furthermore, some possible applications and performance data are summarized based on Packet Loss Rate (PLR), secrecy, survivability and other parameters. The different states of art methods proposed by several authors are compared with Coded Packet Transport (CPT) scheme. We believe that this study is valuable to researchers envisaging a novel approach to enhance the performance of optical networks for telecommunications networks of the future.

Rapid eye movement sleep (REMS) has historically been associated with anecdotal 'creative insights', possibly due to the fantastical and ostensibly illuminating nature of its associated phenomena (dreams). REMS, characterised by rapid eye movements, muscle atonia, and high-energy neuronal activity, has been linked to memory consolidation and information processing, particularly regarding the formation of novel associations or reintegration of consolidated memories into new cognitive networks. However, studies in these domains have largely used methodology which deprived subjects (animal or human) of REMS, rather than enhanced it.

As a new generation of high-energy-density energy storage system, solid-state aluminum-ion batteries have attracted much attention. Nowadays polyethylene oxide (PEO)-based electrolytes have been initially applied to Lithium-ion batteries due to their flexible processing and good interfacial compatibility, their application in aluminum-ion batteries still faces problems. To overcome the limitations in aluminum-ion batteries-specifically, strong Al coordination suppressing ion dissociation, high room-temperature crystallinity, and inadequate mechanical strength-this study develops a blended polymer electrolyte (BPE) of polypropylene carbonate (PPC) and PEO.

Introduction: This bibliometric analysis aims to explore global trends, research hotspots, and future directions in multidrug resistance of multiple myeloma (MM), providing insights for overcoming resistance mechanisms and optimizing therapeutic strategies.
Methods: We analyzed 3300 publications indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection (2015-2024) using CiteSpace and VOSviewer. Multidimensional evaluations of countries/regions, institutions, authors, journals, and keywords were conducted, supplemented by visual network mapping to elucidate research dynamics and collaborative patterns.

Purpose: To characterize the 3D structural phenotypes of the optic nerve head (ONH) in patients with glaucoma, high myopia, and concurrent high myopia and glaucoma, and to evaluate their variations across these conditions.
Design: Retrospective cross-sectional study.
Participants: A total of 685 optical coherence tomography (OCT) scans from 754 subjects of Singapore-Chinese ethnicity, including 256 healthy (H), 94 highly myopic (HM), 227 glaucomatous (G), and 108 highly myopic with glaucoma (HMG) cases METHODS: We segmented the retinal and connective tissue layers from OCT volumes and their boundary edges were converted into 3D point clouds.

Purpose: Cerebrovascular segmentation is crucial for the diagnosis and treatment of cerebrovascular diseases. However, accurately extracting cerebral vessels from Time-of-Flight Magnetic Resonance Angiography (TOF-MRA) remains challenging due to the topological complexity and anatomical variability.
Methods: This paper presents a novel Y-shaped segmentation network with fast Fourier convolution and Mamba, termed F-Mamba-YNet.
