Introduction: The use of articaine has been claimed to obviate the need for routine palatal local anesthetic injections on account of its better diffusion through soft and hard tissues as compared to other local anesthetic agents.
Objective: The objective of the study is to evaluate the efficacy of 4% articaine (with 1:100,000 adrenaline) infiltrated only buccally in the extraction of maxillary premolars for orthodontic reasons.
Materials And Methods: A double-blind randomized clinical trial with a split-mouth design, where each patient ( = 100) was part of two groups, was conducted. Experimental Group 1: single buccal infiltration of 4% articaine with 1:100,000 adrenaline (Septanest™ with adrenaline 1:100,000 by Septodont). Control Group 2: routine buccal and palatal infiltrations of 2% lignocaine with 1:200,000 adrenaline (Lox™ 2% with adrenaline 1:200,000 by Neon). The parameters studied were time to onset of anesthesia, pain during the extraction procedure (not during the injecting of the local anesthetic), and frequency of extra amount of local anesthetic injected.
Results: The difference was not statistically significant ( > 0.05) between the two groups with respect to all three parameters. This proves that a single buccal infiltration of articaine can be used as an alternative to lignocaine for the extraction of the maxillary premolar teeth in most of the cases.
Conclusion: This proves that a single buccal infiltration of articaine can be used as an alternative to lignocaine for the extraction of the maxillary premolar teeth in most of the cases.

Amyloidosis is a group of disorders in which specific precursor proteins form insoluble amyloid fibrils are deposited in various organs and extracellular spaces. Sjögren's syndrome (SS) is a chronic inflammatory disease in which lymphocytes infiltrate the exocrine glands, such as the salivary and lacrimal glands, through an autoimmune mechanism. At advanced stages of SS, localized nodular amyloidosis has been reported in specific organs outside the glands.

Purpose: Alterations in the KEAP1/NFE2L2 (NRF2)/CUL3 pathway occur in ~20% of human head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCC) and are associated with resistance to standard-of-care therapy. However, this pathway's role in radiotherapy resistance in HNSCC has not been well-studied.
Experimental Design: We generated genetically engineered mouse models and developed primary murine cancer cell lines harboring mutations commonly observed in human HNSCC, including inducible activation of PIK3CA and deletion of Trp53, with or without Keap1 loss.

Materials And Methods: Eighteen patients (6 males, 12 females; aged 23-45 years) requiring posterior tooth extraction were enrolled. Eighteen extraction sockets were augmented with either NuOss or Bio-Oss and covered with a collagen membrane.

Background: Increasing evidence reveals that immune cells significantly contribute to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) progression. The patatin-like phospholipase domain-containing protein 3 (PNPLA3) I148M variant has been linked to hepatic inflammation and fibrosis; however, its role in immune cell infiltration and activation within the liver remains unclear.
Methods: Seventy patients with MASLD were prospectively enrolled.
