Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) encompasses distinct inflammatory subtypes such as polyarticular (pJIA), oligoarticular (oJIA), systemic onset (sJIA) and enthesitis-related arthritis (ERA). The molecular mechanisms underlying these subtypes remain unclear. This study aimed to investigate the differential protein expression in synovial fluid (SF) across these subtypes of JIA using high-throughput proteomics to identify potential diagnostic biomarkers.

: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disorder that predominantly affects synovial joints, leading to inflammation, pain, and progressive joint damage. Despite therapeutic advancements, the molecular basis of established RA remains poorly defined. In this study, we conducted an untargeted plasma proteomic analysis using two-dimensional differential gel electrophoresis (2D-DIGE) and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS) in samples from RA patients and healthy controls in the discovery phase.

Background: Equine osteoarthritis (OA) is predominantly diagnosed through clinical examination and radiography, leading to detection only after significant joint pathology. The pathogenesis of OA remains unclear and while many medications modify the disease's inflammatory components, no curative or reversal treatments exist. Identifying differentially abundant metabolites and proteins correlated with osteoarthritis severity could improve early diagnosis, track disease progression, and evaluate responses to interventions.
