Cytokines-mediated immunity is essential for the pathological development of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Inhibition of signaling has suggested a potential remedial approach to RA. G protein-coupled receptor 4 (GPR4) has been proven to possess a broad range of physiological functions, but its function in synovial mast cells and RA is less reported.

Background: As air pollution has been paid more attention to by public in recent years, effects and mechanism in particulate matter-triggered health problems become a focus of research. Lysosomes and mitochondria play an important role in regulation of inflammation. Interleukin-33 (IL-33) has been proved to promote inflammation in our previous studies.

Although exogenous oxidative stress has been suggested to promote the pathogenesis of airway inflammation, previous trials using conventional antioxidant therapy in asthma have been largely ineffective, suggesting the complex roles of oxidative stress in the regulation of airway inflammation and of its critical mediating lymphocyte populations. Group 2 innate lymphoid cells (ILC2s) proliferate and induce eosinophilia in response to tissue alarminsin the early phase of airway inflammation. We previously showed that IL-33 -induced endogenous reactive oxygen species is required for optimal metabolic activation of ILC2 functions, however, the role of exogenous oxidative stress in regulating ILC2 functions has not been investigated.

Background: Interleukin (IL)-33 is expressed in a healthy brain and plays a pivotal role in several neuropathologies, as protective or contributing to the development of cerebral diseases associated with cognitive impairments. However, the role of IL-33 in the brain is poorly understood, raising the question of its involvement in immunoregulatory mechanisms.
Methods: We administered recombinant IL-33 (rmIL-33) by intra-hippocampal injection to C57BL/6 J (WT) and IL-1αβ deficient mice.
