Article Abstract

New octahedral rhenium cluster complexes [{ReQ}(SO)] (Q = S or Se) were synthesized starting from [{ReQ}(HO)(OH)]·12HO. The complexes were crystallized as sodium salts and characterized by X-ray single-crystal diffraction and elemental analyses, IR, UV/vis and luminescence spectroscopies. Magnetic relaxation data demonstrate the complex formation of the cluster units with gadolinium ions. The analysis of the magnetic relaxation rates measured at various Gd:cluster ratios and different concentrations revealed the conversion of the aggregates (Gd[{ReSe}(SO)]) into a nanoparticulate form even at = 1 and ≥ 1. Thus, the self-assembly of the cluster units into the nanoparticles is greatly facilitated by counterion binding with sodium cations. The concentration conditions were optimized for the formation and hydrophilization of NaGd[{ReQ}(SO)]-based colloids with the magnetic relaxivity values of = 21.0(24.1) and = 25.9(29.8) mM s for the {ReS} and {ReSe} derivatives, respectively.

Preclinical stroke research faces a critical translational gap, with animal studies failing to reliably predict clinical efficacy. To address this, the field is moving toward rigorous, multicenter preclinical randomized controlled trials (mpRCTs) that mimic phase 3 clinical trials in several key components. This collective statement, derived from experts involved in mpRCTs, outlines considerations for designing and executing such trials.

We investigated primary and secondary geometric isotope effects (H, D, T) on charge-inverted hydrogen bonds (CIHB) and dihydrogen bonds (DHB) using nuclear-electronic orbital density functional theory (NEO-DFT). The dianionic but electrophilic boron cluster [BH] served as a bonding partner, exhibiting a negatively polarized hydrogen atom in the BH bond. CIHB systems included interactions with Lewis acids (AlH, BH, GaH) and carbenes (CF, CCl, CBr), while DHBs were analyzed with NH, HF, HCl, and HBr.

Institute for Public Health and Nursing Research, Department Evaluation and Implementation Research in Nursing Science, University of Bremen, Grazer Straße 4, D- 28359, Bremen, Germany.

Background: School nursing is a complex clinical specialty practice that varies across different countries. Theories, models and frameworks can inform nursing practice. This scoping review aims to explore the conceptualisation and operationalisation of school nursing in theories, models and frameworks.

LONP1 Variants Are Associated With Clinically Diverse Phenotypes.

Clin Genet

September 2025

Department of Pediatrics, Boston Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

LONP1 encodes a mitochondrial protease essential for protein quality control and metabolism. Variants in LONP1 are associated with a diverse and expanding spectrum of disorders, including Cerebral, Ocular, Dental, Auricular, and Skeletal anomalies syndrome (CODAS), congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH), and neurodevelopmental disorders (NDD), with some individuals exhibiting features of mitochondrial encephalopathy. We report 16 novel LONP1 variants identified in 16 individuals (11 with NDD, 5 with CDH), further expanding the clinical spectrum.

This study addresses historical uncertainties regarding morphological variation in the paraprocts of Tupiperla illiesi, a stonefly with a complex taxonomic history. We tested whether these variations represent phenotypic plasticity or distinct species using integrative taxonomy. Adult gripopterygids were collected from Estação Biológica de Boracéia utilizing Malaise and light traps.
