Article Abstract

has been utilized for both transient and stable transformations of plants. These transformation methods have been used in fields such as breeding GM crops, protein production in plant cells, and the functional analysis of genes. However, some plants have significantly lower transient gene transfer and stable transformation rates, creating a technical barrier that needs to be resolved. In this study, Super- was updated to ver. 4 by introducing both the ACC deaminase () and GABA transaminase () genes, whose resultant enzymes degrade ACC, the ethylene precursor, and GABA, respectively. strain GV2260, which is similar to other major strains (EHA105, GV3101, LBA4404, and MP90), was used in this study. The abilities of the Super- ver. 4 were evaluated in , "Micro-Tom," , and . Super- ver. 4 showed the highest T-DNA transfer (transient transformation) frequencies in and , but not in and . In tomato, Super- ver. 4 increased the stable transformation rate by 3.6-fold compared to the original GV2260 strain. Super- ver. 4 enables reduction of the amount of time and labor required for transformations by approximately 72%, and is therefore a more effective and powerful tool for plant genetic engineering and functional analysis, than the previously developed strains. As our system has a plasmid containing the and genes, it could be used in combination with other major strains such as EHA105, EHA101, LBA4404, MP90, and AGL1. Super- ver. 4, could thus possibly be a breakthrough application for improving basic plant science research methods.

Purpose: This study evaluates the accuracy of modern intraocular lens (IOL) calculation formulas using axial length (AL) data obtained by ultrasound biometry (UBM) compared to the third-generation SRK/T calculator.

Material And Methods: The study included 230 patients (267 eyes) with severe lens opacities that prevented optical biometry, who underwent phacoemulsification (PE) with IOL implantation. IOL power calculation according to the SRK/T formula was based on AL and anterior chamber depth obtained by UBM (Tomey Biometer Al-100) and keratometry on the Topcon KR 8800 autorefractometer.

Fragmented and primer ligated dsRNA sequencing (FLDS) is a sequencing method applicable to long double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) that enables the complete genome sequencing of both double- and single-stranded RNA viruses. However, the application of this method on a low amount of dsRNA has been hindered by adaptor dimer formation during cDNA amplification and sequence library preparation. We herein developed FLDS ver.

Organocatalytic Cascade Reactions for the Diversification of Thiopyrano-Piperidone Fused Rings Utilizing Trienamine Activation.

Chemistry

January 2021

Departamento de Química, División de Ciencias NaturalesyExactas, Universidad de Guanajuato, Noria Alta S/N, 36050 Guanajuato, Gto., México.

An aminocatalytic privileged diversity-oriented synthesis (ApDOS) strategy utilizing trienamine catalysis for the construction of diverse and complex thiopyrans-piperidone fused rings through a thia-Diels-Alder/nucleophilic ring-closing sequence by using dithioamides as activated heterodienophiles is reported. Following this strategy, a super cascade reaction to assemble nine fused rings can be achieved by employing a bis-dithioamide. Additionally, by linking an indole moiety on the dithioamide, a Pictet-Spengler type reaction can be promoted once the cascade sequence has been achieved, leading to more complex penta- hexa- and heptacyclic fused ring derivatives in a one-pot process.

Innovative high-frequency magnetic sensors have been designed and manufactured in-house for installation on the Tokamak à Configuration Variable (TCV), which are now routinely operational during the TCV experimental campaigns. These sensors combine the Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramic (LTCC) and the classical thick-film technologies and are in various aspects similar to the majority of the in-vessel inductive magnetic sensors foreseen for ITER (around 450 out of the 505 currently being procured are of the LTCC-1D type). The TCV LTCC-3D magnetic sensors provide measurements in the frequency range up to 1 MHz of the perturbations to the wall-aligned toroidal (δB), vertical (δB), and radial (δB) magnetic field components.

Fabrication of biodegradable poly (lactic acid)/carbon nanotube nanocomposite foams: Significant improvement on rheological property and foamability.

Recently, biodegradable macromolecules have been highly desired as a promising alternative for traditional oil-based plastics to work out the eco crisis and biological health problems triggered by microplastics. Herein, we presented a simple, effective, environmentally friendly and CO-based foaming methodology for fabricating ultra-low-density poly (lactic acid)/carbon nanotube (PLA/CNTs) nanocomposite foam. By the gradual incorporation of CNTs, three kinds of networks generated in PLA/CNTs nanocomposites and had a distinct reinforcement influence on their melt viscoelasticity, which testified by transmission electron microscope, electrical conductivity and rheological property measurements, severally.
