C$_{4}$ photosynthesis is a complex trait that sustains fast growth and high productivity in tropical and subtropical conditions and evolved repeatedly in flowering plants. One of the major C$_{4}$ lineages is Andropogoneae, a group of $\sim $1200 grass species that includes some of the world's most important crops and species dominating tropical and some temperate grasslands. Previous efforts to understand C$_{4}$ evolution in the group have compared a few model C$_{4}$ plants to distantly related C$_{3}$ species so that changes directly responsible for the transition to C$_{4}$ could not be distinguished from those that preceded or followed it. In this study, we analyze the genomes of 66 grass species, capturing the earliest diversification within Andropogoneae as well as their C$_{3}$ relatives. Phylogenomics combined with molecular dating and analyses of protein evolution show that many changes linked to the evolution of C$_{4}$ photosynthesis in Andropogoneae happened in the Early Miocene, between 21 and 18 Ma, after the split from its C$_{3}$ sister lineage, and before the diversification of the group. This initial burst of changes was followed by an extended period of modifications to leaf anatomy and biochemistry during the diversification of Andropogoneae, so that a single C$_{4}$ origin gave birth to a diversity of C$_{4}$ phenotypes during 18 million years of speciation events and migration across geographic and ecological spaces. Our comprehensive approach and broad sampling of the diversity in the group reveals that one key transition can lead to a plethora of phenotypes following sustained adaptation of the ancestral state. The acoustic nonlinearity parameter (B/A) could enhance the diagnostic capabilities of conventional ultrasonography and quantitative ultrasound in tissues and diseases. Nonlinear acoustic propagation theory of plane waves has been used to develop a dual-energy model of the depletion of the fundamental related to the Gol'dberg number and subsequently to the B/A of media (a reference phantom is used as a baseline). The depletion method, however, needs a priori information of the attenuation coefficient (AC) of the assessed media.

Background: Digital media frequently contains positive portrayals of alcohol content, which has been shown to be associated with alcohol-related cognitions and behaviors. Because youth are heavy media consumers and have access to unsupervised, repeat viewing of media content on their personal mobile devices, it is critical to understand the frequency of encountering alcohol content in adolescents' daily lives and how adolescents engage with the content.
Objective: This paper outlines the study protocol for examining adolescents' exposure to alcohol-related content in digital media within their natural environments.

RNA polymerase II (RNAPII) is regulated by sequence-specific transcription factors (TFs) and the pre-initiation complex (PIC): TFIIA, TFIIB, TFIID, TFIIE, TFIIF, TFIIH, and Mediator. TFs, Mediator, and RNAPII contain intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) and form phase-separated condensates, but how IDRs control RNAPII function remains poorly understood. Using purified PIC factors, we developed a real-time in vitro fluorescence transcription (RIFT) assay for second-by-second visualization of transcription at hundreds of promoters simultaneously.

Recent advances in neural regeneration have demonstrated the importance of incorporating proteins into polymeric capsules to provide both topographical and biochemical cues to cells. Coaxial electrospinning has emerged as a versatile technique for embedding delicate bioactive agents within core-shell nanofibers, enabling controlled and sustained drug release. In this study, we employed a design-of-experiment approach to systematically investigate how controllable parameters in coaxial electrospinning influence the diameter and size distribution of aligned poly (ethylene oxide-poly(l-lactide-co-glycolide) nanofibers loaded with nerve growth factor (NGF).
