is one of the most common commensal bacteria of the gastrointestinal tract of humans and warm-blooded animals. Contaminated poultry can lead to disease outbreaks in consumers causing massive economic losses in the poultry industry. Additionally, commensal can harbor antibiotic resistance genes that can be transferred to other bacteria, including pathogens, in a colonized human host. In a previous study on antimicrobial resistance of from food animals from Nigeria, multidrug-resistant were detected. Three of those isolates were selected for further study using whole-genome sequencing due to the extensive drug resistance exhibited. All of the isolates carried the extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL) genes, and , whereas one isolate harbored an additional ESBL, . All of the tetracycline-resistant isolates carried (A). The genes and , conferring resistance to aminoglycosides, were identified in an isolate resistant to gentamicin and tobramycin. In two isolates, , , and , were detected conferring resistance to trimethoprim, fluoroquinolones, and sulfonamides, respectively. The third isolate carried , no fluoroquinolone resistance gene, an additional gene, and a chloramphenicol resistance gene, Mutations in candidate genes conferring resistance to fosfomycin and fluoroquinolones were also detected. Several efflux systems were detected in all the isolates and virulence-associated genes related to serum resistance, motility, and adhesion. and non- origin prophages were also identified in the isolates. The results underline the higher resolution power of whole-genome sequencing for investigation of antimicrobial resistance, virulence, and phage in .

Purpose: NOTCH3 is increasingly implicated for its oncogenic role in many malignancies, including meningiomas. While prior work has linked NOTCH3 expression to higher-grade meningiomas and treatment resistance, the metabolic phenotype of NOTCH3 activation remains unexplored in meningioma.
Methods: We performed single-cell RNA sequencing on NOTCH3 + human meningioma cell lines.

This study evaluated how dietary black seed oil (Nigella sativa L.) against the diazinon waterborne toxicity on Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), focusing on growth performance, hematological and biochemical parameters as well as oxidative stress markers and histological changes. A 40-day feeding trial was carried out using four experimental groups: Group 1 (control group), Group 2 (N.

Echinocandins, which target the fungal β-1,3-glucan synthase (Fks), are essential for treating invasive fungal infections, yet resistance is increasingly reported. While resistance typically arises through mutations in Fks hotspots, emerging evidence suggests a contributing role of changes in membrane sterol composition due to mutations. Here, we present a clinical case of () in which combined mutations in and , but not alone, appear to confer echinocandin resistance.

Prostate cancer is a significant global health issue with inflammation emerging as a critical driver of progression. The prostate tumor microenvironment (TME) is comprised of tumor cells, mesenchymal stem cells, immune cells, cancer-associated fibroblasts, adipocytes, and the extracellular matrix. All of these TME components interact soluble factors, such as growth factors, cytokines, and chemokines.

Trastuzumab-containing therapy remains a treatment option for patients with HER2-positive gastric cancer (GC). However, primary resistance to trastuzumab is a challenge. Therefore, it is essential to identify biomarkers for predicting the efficacy of trastuzumab-based treatment.
