Braided stents are associated with a number of complications . Accurate computational modelling of these devices is essential for the design and development of the next generation of these stents. In this study, two commonly utilised methods of computationally modelling filament interaction in braided stents are investigated: the join method and the weave method. Three different braided stent designs are experimentally tested and computationally modelled in both radial and v-block configurations. The results of the study indicate that while both methods are capable of capturing braided stent performance to some degree, the weave method is much more robust.

Background: The Pipeline Vantage 027 flow diverter became available a year ago in the United States. We report an observational study of its safety and early angiographic response in the treatment of internal carotid artery (ICA) aneurysms.
Methods: All patients treated with the Vantage 027 for ICA aneurysms from April to November 2024 at a single center were included.

Background/aim: Endotracheal tube intubation is required for surgery under inhalation anesthesia. In the present study, after inhalation anesthesia in dogs, the tracheal tube was extubated without deflating the endotracheal tube cuff, resulting in thoracic tracheal rupture, subcutaneous emphysema, and pneumomediastinum. The ruptured thoracic trachea was reconstructed using an endotracheal stent to treat intrathoracic emphysema.

Spontaneous recanalized coronary thrombus (SRCT) has been identified in autopsy studies as multiple interconnected channels separated by thin septa. Despite its potential clinical significance, SRCT remains underdiagnosed. Recent advances in intracoronary imaging, including optical coherence tomography (OCT), have elucidated its pathophysiology, angiographic patterns, and therapeutic strategies.

Bioresorbable braided stents represent a promising solution for the treatment of peripheral artery disease, providing temporary mechanical support before gradually degrading into biocompatible byproducts. Previous studies have highlighted their lower mechanical performance compared to permanent metallic stents. However, their implantation in lower limb arteries remains unexplored, leaving uncertainty on whether their mechanical performance is sufficient for effective treatment.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the factors influencing the extent of contralateral iliac vein orifice coverage by stents extending into the inferior vena cava (IVC) in patients with iliac vein compression syndrome (IVCS).MethodsThis retrospective study included 150 patients with IVCS who underwent unilateral stent placement between September 2018 and October 2020. Diagnosis was based on clinical symptoms, venography showing ≥50% iliac vein narrowing, and exclusion of thrombosis or external compression.
