Previous studies have found that bilinguals differ in their response times on the bilingual version of Stroop Task. Automaticity and control and Language proficiency have emerged as important factors that lead to differences in the response time. This study aimed to understand Stroop Effect in Hindi-English bilinguals on the computerized version of Hindi and English language Stroop task. The study was conducted on 42 Hindi-English bilinguals. All were more proficient in the Hindi language as compared to the English Language. Results of the study revealed greater Stroop Effect in the English language as compared to the Hindi language.

Recent studies showed that the presence of the experimenter hinders executive functions. Belletier and Camos (2018) extended these findings to working memory, reporting a detrimental effect of the experimenter presence only when participants performed an aloud concurrent articulation during maintenance. Under such a condition, participants likely relied on an attentional maintenance mechanism rather that an articulatory mechanism, supporting the account of a capture of attention by the social presence.

Background: Methamphetamine use disorder (MUD) is linked to a variety of cognitive and neuropsychiatric deficits. One of the illegal substances that is most frequently abused is cannabis. The general consensus is that both recreational cannabis and methamphetamine use result in a wide spectrum of severe cognitive impairments, although there have been questions raised regarding conclusions derived from published material.

Significance: Functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) enables neuroimaging in scenarios where other modalities are less suitable, such as during motion tasks or in low-resource environments. Sparse fNIRS arrays with 30 mm channel spacing are widely used but have limited spatial resolution. High-density (HD) arrays with overlapping, multidistance channels improve sensitivity and localization but increase costs and setup times.

This study investigated the effects of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise (MIAE) and MIAE combined with isometric resistance exercise on a whole-body vibration (WBV) platform (MIAE+WBV) compared with the effects of no exercise (NEI) on neurocognitive and molecular indices in 71 sedentary, healthy postmenopausal women. Participants were randomly assigned to MIAE (n = 23), MIAE+WBV (n = 23), and NEI (n = 25) groups. Neurocognitive measures, including accuracy rate (AR), reaction time (RT), and electroencephalogram-based event-related potentials (P2, N2, and P3 components) during the Stroop task, in addition to serum levels of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1), norepinephrine (NE), osteocalcin (OC), carboxylated OC (cOC), and uncarboxylated OC (ucOC), were evaluated before and after the intervention.

The impact of state anxiety on conflict control and its neural mechanisms, particularly in relation to proactive versus reactive control, remains incompletely understood. Therefore, we conducted two experiments to investigate how state anxiety affects conflict control across different control contexts and to explore the associated temporal dynamics. The threat of shock paradigm was employed to induce state anxiety.
