We present a new database, specifically devoted to ROS homeostasis regulated proteins. This database replaced our previous database, the PeroxiBase, which was focused only on various peroxidase families. The addition of 20 new protein families related with ROS homeostasis justifies the new name for this more complex and comprehensive database as RedoxiBase. Besides enlarging the focus of the database, new analysis tools and functionalities have been developed and integrated through the web interface, with which the users can now directly access to orthologous sequences and see the chromosomal localization of sequences when available. OrthoMCL tool, completed with a post-treatment process, provides precise predictions of orthologous gene groups for the sequences present in this database. In order to explore and analyse orthogroups results, taxonomic visualization of organisms containing sequence of a specific orthogroup as well as chromosomal distribution of the orthogroup with one or two organisms have been included.

Role of ACE2 in regulating inflammatory damage has been recognized, its association with ER stress and autophagy under PEDV infection remains elusive. To clarify the above associations, this study first established a stress injury model through PEDV infection to determine whether it can induce ER stress or autophagy. Then, the relationships between ER stress, autophagy and ROS under PEDV infection were verified.

Gut-mitochondria is an emerging paradigm in understanding the pathophysiology of complex neuropsychiatric disorders such as Schizophrenia (SCZ). This bidirectional communication network connects the gastrointestinal microbiota with mitochondrial function and brain health, offering novel insights into disease onset and progression. SCZ, characterized by hallucinations, delusions, cognitive impairments, and social withdrawal, has traditionally been attributed to genetic and neurochemical imbalances.

Mitochondria play a crucial role in energy production and are intimately associated with ocular function. Mitochondrial dysfunction can trigger oxidative stress and inflammation, adversely affecting key ocular structures such as the lacrimal gland, lens, retina, and trabecular meshwork. This dysfunction may compromise the barrier properties of the trabecular meshwork, impeding aqueous humour outflow, elevating intraocular pressure, and resulting in optic nerve damage and primary open-angle glaucoma.

Acute lung injury (ALI) represents a critical clinical challenge characterized by uncontrolled pulmonary inflammation and disrupted tissue homeostasis, often leading to severe respiratory dysfunction. Current pharmacological interventions and vaccines have demonstrated suboptimal clinical outcomes in modulating disease progression, highlighting the urgent need for innovative therapeutic strategies. A key pathophysiological feature of ALI involves dysregulation of redox homeostasis and excessive pulmonary inflammation.

Polyploidy, a conserved mechanism involved in normal development and tissue homeostasis, plays a paradoxical role in cancer by facilitating both tumor progression and therapeutic vulnerability. Although polyploidization may confer survival advantages to cancer cells, its controlled induction could represent an effective anticancer strategy. Aurora B kinase, a critical regulator of mitosis, plays a pivotal role in ensuring chromosomal integrity and preventing polyploidy.
