Article Abstract

Whispering-gallery-mode resonators can dramatically enhance the light-matter interaction, benefitting nonlinear optics in many ways. Here, we demonstrate effective four-wave mixing (FWM) in a lithium niobate on insulator (LNOI) microdisk via cascaded quadratic nonlinear processes of second-harmonic generation and difference-frequency generation (i.e., cSHG/DFG) in the telecommunication band. The effective FWM process can be used as an optical parametric amplifier and can mimic an effectively strong Kerr nonlinearity. This shows the great promise of an integrated LNOI platform for nonlinear frequency conversion.

Bullying is a group phenomenon, and bystanders play an important role in either facilitating or inhibiting bullying. However, knowledge is still lacking regarding factors, especially contextual ones, which contribute to positive bystander behaviors. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the associations between school connectedness and willingness to intervene within the context of anti-bullying climate, using a three-year, four-wave longitudinal design (a half-year interval between Time 1 and Time 2, and one-year intervals between subsequent waves).

Introduction: Extensive research has demonstrated the deleterious effects of both cyberbullying perpetration and cyberbullying victimization on youth and adults alike. Most research, to date, is segmented into focusing on the predictors of cyberbullying perpetration or the outcomes of being cyber-victimized, which presents an incomplete theoretical understanding of cyberbullying. Therefore, the current research tests a novel theory that combines both literatures and operationalizes cyberbullying perpetration and cyber-victimization as mediators: the Integrative Cyberbullying Theory (ICBT).

A scheme of switching supercontinuum coherent radiation and a coherent Raman comb is proposed, based on stimulated Raman scattering (SRS)-induced four-wave mixing (FWM) and the cross-pumping effect in cyclohexane (CH)/carbon tetrachloride (CCl) mixtures. CH exhibits two SRS peaks (ν and ν), attributed to the symmetric and antisymmetric stretching of -CH, respectively. Supercontinuum coherent radiation via FWM between the second-order Stokes SRS (ω) of ν and the sum frequency (ω) of ν and ν is generated at a volume ratio of 3:7, which contains 13 peaks with a frequency interval of approximately 85 cm, spanning a radiation bandwidth from 4850 to 5897 cm.

A moving space-time electron grating can split a laser pulse into two parts, functioning as a pulse splitter. In this paper, the evolution of dynamic gratings generated by two counterpropagating laser pulses with different frequencies is investigated. These gratings are characterized by finite length, rapid formation, and directional movement.

To fully understand resilience and to inform resilience-promoting interventions, it is important to explore how resilience develops and the factors that influence it. Using a multidimensional approach that considers both well-being resilience (higher than expected wellbeing after adversity) and depression resilience (lower than expected depression after adversity), this study examined resilience trajectories among Chinese 0adolescents and the associations of gratitude and perceived stress with resilience trajectories. Data from a four-wave longitudinal study were analyzed from 563 Chinese adolescents (mean age at Time 1 = 12.
