Frailty, often linked to sarcopenia, involves reduced muscle strength and mass. While sarcopenia has multiple causes, impaired muscle protein synthesis may contribute. Leucine and resistance training (RT) are anabolic stimuli, but the long-term effects of leucine combined with RT in pre/frail older women remain unclear.

Comprehensive interrogation of multiple disease-specific databases facilitated the identification of crucial SLE-associated molecular targets and hub genes, with MAPK1, MAPK3, TP53, JUN, and JAK2 demonstrating the highest degree of network centrality. Subsequent molecular docking simulations and binding affinity assessments revealed compounds with exceptional complementarity to these pivotal molecular targets, establishing as a pharmacologically promising botanical source and glycyrrhizin as its principal bioactive constituent meriting comprehensive mechanistic investigation.

Objectives: Loeys-Dietz syndrome comprises genetically discrete subtypes of varying clinical severity. This study integrates longitudinal Loeys-Dietz syndrome clinical outcomes after aortic root replacement with transcriptomic analysis of aortic smooth muscle cell dysregulation to investigate mechanisms governing this subtype-specific aortic vulnerability.
Methods: Single institutional experience with aortic root replacement for nondissected aneurysm in patients with Loeys-Dietz syndrome was reviewed for midterm survival and distal aortic events (subsequent aortic intervention, aneurysm, or dissection).

Survivin, an inhibitor of apoptosis protein, is minimally expressed in normal adult tissues but overexpressed in multiple cancers. This study investigates survivin expression alongside autophagy markers ATG7 and LC3B in seven solid tumor types in Indian patient samples. Immunohistochemical analysis was performed on 48 cancer tissue samples (breast n = 7, buccal n = 6, cervical n = 5, colon n = 8, renal n = 6, liver n = 10, thyroid n = 6) and adjacent normal tissues (n = 9) using anti-human antibodies against survivin, ATG7, and LC3B.

Marigold (Tagetes erecta) serves as both an ornamental and economically significant species, owing to its diverse floral coloration and exceptionally high petal carotenoid content. Carotenoid cleavage dioxygenase (CCD), as the key enzymatic component, mediates the carotenoid degradation process. In this study, we cloned and functionally characterized a CCD4 gene to elucidate its regulatory function in petal color and carotenoid biosynthesis.
