Background: Vertebral body tethering (VBT) offers an alternative treatment for patients with idiopathic scoliosis. We present our finalized Food and Drug Administration Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) study results on VBT.
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed patients with Lenke Type IA/B curves who underwent VBT between 2011 and 2015.

Early-life experiences shape neural networks, with heightened plasticity during the so-called "sensitive periods" (SP). SP are regulated by the maturation of GABAergic parvalbumin-positive (PV+) interneurons, which become enwrapped by perineuronal nets (PNNs) over time, modulating SP closure. Additionally, the opening and closing of SP are orchestrated by two distinct gene clusters known as "trigger" and "brake".

X-linked agammaglobulinemia (XLA) is a rare inborn error of immunity caused by loss-of-function mutations in the gene encoding Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK). XLA patients lack mature B cells and have negligible antibody levels, leaving them susceptible to recurrent bacterial and chronic viral infections. Autologous hematopoietic stem cell gene therapy with gene-corrected HSC may serve as a promising treatment of XLA; this therapy would provide a one-time cure and would replace lifelong immunoglobulin replacement therapy.

Purpose: To identify factors that contribute to the speed of angular correction in skeletally immature patients with genu varum treated with paraphyseal tension band plates, hypothesizing that screw length and divergence, severity of deformity, and underlying pathology influence the rate and speed of genu varum correction.
Methods: Fifty-three patients (38 males, 15 females) undergoing genu varum correction were included; a total of 138 physes (64 distal femur, 74 proximal tibia) were assessed. The median age at surgery was 37.

Objective: To synthesise current evidence on electroencephalography-based functional connectivity in preterm infants and clarify how prematurity alters early brain-network maturation.
Methods: A PRISMA-guided search (PubMed and Web of Science, inception-Mar 2025) identified 24 studies that quantified resting-state functional connectivity or graph-theory metrics in infants born <37 weeks' gestation. Study quality was rated with a six-item electroencephalography-functional connectivity checklist (reference montage, epoch length/number, artefact rejection, volume-conduction control, multiple-comparison correction).
