Background: Azygos vein aneurysm (AVA) is a rare thoracic pathology that is frequently misdiagnosed. While contrast-enhanced chest computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can delineate AVA location and size, these techniques lack the capability for dynamic real-time assessment of internal architecture.
Case Presentation: We present a highly unusual case of a 67-year-old woman who had an isolated azygos vein aneurysm presenting with dysphagia.

Protein-rich custards were developed for elderly individuals with dysphagia by combining soy protein isolate (SPI) and milk protein concentrate (MPC), with and without transglutaminase (TG). The formulations were designed to resemble the texture, rheology, and swallowability of MPC-only custard. Custards with 1:1 and 1:2 SPI-to-MPC ratios, both with and without 0.

Background: Dysphagia (swallowing impairment) can lead to malnutrition, dehydration, aspiration pneumonia, social isolation and even death. Current interventions for dysphagia include rehabilitation that improves swallowing physiology and function. Physical exercise is known to directly benefit skeletal muscles and may also benefit non-targeted skeletal muscles involved in swallowing, as these muscles are often engaged during vigorous exercise.

Bile acids are a major component of gastro-esophageal refluxate, thought to contribute to the development of Barrett's esophagus (BE) and esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC). As the microbiome shifts with EAC progression and bile acids influence bacterial composition, we examined these connections in a multi-center, cross-sectional study. We analyzed biospecimens from patients undergoing endoscopy using LC-MS to quantify bile acids in gastric aspirates, 16S rRNA sequencing for tissue microbiome profiling, and RNA sequencing on BE or cardia tissue.
