Purpose: This study aimed to: (1) investigate the extent to which Family Centered Care (FCC) principles are currently applied in clinical practice by healthcare providers working in inpatient units; (2) evaluate the extent to which FCC principles are perceived as necessary; and (3) examine the associations between FCC principles and socio-demographic and job characteristics of participants. Design and Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted at a large pediatric hospital using the Italian version of the FCC Questionnaire Revised (FCCQ-R). Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed.
Results: Data from 469 healthcare providers were used for analysis. Scores for the FCC daily practices (Current activities) were significantly lower than those for their perceived necessity (Necessary activities) (p < .001). Participants who were male, younger, with work experience >20 years and working in rehabilitation reported a significantly higher perception of Current activities of FCC than others. The older and the more educated the participants, the greater was the perceived necessity of FCC activities. Female, older, and less experienced participants employed by the hospital but not working in the rehabilitation setting perceived a greater gap between Necessary and Current activities of FCC.
Conclusions: Scores for the Current and Necessary activities of FCC were lower than those reported in other studies. The lower scores in the Current activities and the significant gap can be due to organizational barriers or lack of skills, but the lower scores in the Necessary activities should be interpreted as a deficit of knowledge about FCC.
Practice Implications: There is a need for further education about FCC in order to increase its perceived relevance in clinical practice.

Argemone mexicana is one of the known herbaceous plants hosting bioactive isoquinoline alkaloids. In the current study, an endophytic fungal isolate was studied for anti-inflammatory potential and the identification of its bioactive molecule. An endophytic fungus AMEF-14 was obtained from this plant and identified as Cladosporium ramotenellum based on microscopy and molecular tools.

The development of high-performance, cost-effective non-noble metal catalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is critical to advancing sustainable hydrogen production via water electrolysis. Herein, we report a facile and mild strategy for synthesizing amorphous bimetallic organic framework materials (NiFe-MOFs) using pyridine-modified threonine (l-PyThr) as an organic ligand. The optimized NiFe-PyThr-4:1 catalyst exhibits remarkable OER activity, requiring low overpotentials of only 162 and 222 mV to achieve current densities of 10 and 100 mA cm, respectively, along with a small Tafel slope of 34.

Introduction: Neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) are a priority in the public health agenda for Côte d'Ivoire, with persons living with disabilities due to NTDs (PD-NTDs) experiencing many challenges in their daily lives. Current policies do not sufficiently support PD-NTDs, thereby highlighting the need to identify opportunities for policy improvement.
Methods: This study was carried out in two phases: first to identify the current needs (formative phase) and then to develop a pilot strategy (implementation phase).

Increasing wildfire activity in mesic, temperate Pacific Northwest forests west of the Cascade Range crest has stimulated interest in understanding whether alternative forest management practices could reduce risk of stand-replacing fire. To explore how management can enhance fire resistance in these forests and assess tradeoffs among resistance enhancement, carbon sequestration and storage, and economic returns, we conducted 40-year simulations of stand development with BioSum, a framework for conducting landscape analysis with the Forest Vegetation Simulator (FVS), utilizing a statistically representative and spatially balanced sample of Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) plots. Simulation outcomes under business-as-usual silviculture were contrasted with fire-aware silviculture, and treatment optimization logic was developed and applied to represent landscape-scale outcomes under business-as-usual and fire-focused management scenarios.
