Background: Kaempferol (KAE), a bioactive flavonoid, has limited solubility and stability in water. Zein-gum arabic (GA) nanoparticles (NPs) are promising carriers for KAE, but the influence of preparation methods on their structure and properties remains unclear. This study investigated the effect of preparation method on the structure and properties of KAE-loaded zein-GA NPs.

Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease, the incidence of which continues to rise globally, and existing therapeutic options are limited by low drug bioavailability and systemic side effects. In this study, we systematically investigated the challenges of the special gastrointestinal environment of UC patients for oral drug delivery, such as extreme pH, degradation by digestive enzymes, metabolism of intestinal flora and obstruction of the intestinal mucosal barrier, and summarized the potential of plant-derived Exosome-like Nanovesicles (PELNs) as a novel delivery system. PELNs are produced by plant cells and mainly consist of proteins, RNA, lipids and plant active molecules.

Carbapenemases, β-lactamases hydrolysing carbapenem antibiotics, challenge the treatment of multi-drug resistant bacteria. The OXA-48 carbapenemase is widely disseminated in , necessitating new treatments for producer strains. Diazabicyclooctane (DBO) inhibitors, including avibactam and nacubactam, act on a wide range of enzymes to overcome β-lactamase-mediated resistance.

Cyclopropane is a significant alicyclic motif, widely utilized in medicinal chemistry, while fluorination serves as a powerful tool to modulate properties that enhance the performance of pharmaceuticals and materials. This quantum-chemical study explores the energetic implications of fluorinating cyclopropane, providing insights into molecular characteristics arising from the polar C-F bond. Isodesmic reactions revealed that the conversion of cyclopropane and methyl fluoride into mono-, di-, tri-, tetra-, penta-, and hexafluorinated cyclopropanes is exothermic, except for the all--1,2,3-trifluorocyclopropane ().

The present study utilizes density functional theory (DFT) to systematically investigate the effect of a ligand on the mechanism of nickel-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of cyclic -sulfonyl imines, employing alcohol protons as the hydrogen source. By comparing the free energies of three catalytic pathways involving various coordinated nickel complexes with different ligands, we identify that the enantio-determining step is the nickel-hydride transfer. Notably, the reaction pathway initiated by the Ni(0) species through oxidative addition of alcohol is determined to be the most favorable.
